He only had 44 in his career. It's 1 fight. 36 minutes. He's a professional. $50 million is multi-generational wealth. No boxer in their right mind would turn $50 million down, but Lennox has a massive ego.

Here's a bloke that knows a thing or two about heavyweight boxing. To make it even better he was sitting at ringside.

Afterwards Audley Harrison, who was at ringside, told this website there was no way the fight could go on.

Harrison said being inactive for a year had not done Lewis any favours and he said ring rust was to blame for the champ's initially sluggish performance.

"No matter how much sparring you do, if you've been out of the ring for a year ring rust hits us all, especially Lewis whose style is all about finding his rhythm."

As for a rematch, Harrison reckoned it would suit Lewis more than Klitschko. Lewis struggled to contain Klitschko from the start
"That was the best of Klitschko you saw tonight. Next time around, without the ring rust and with proper preparation, Lennox will do a number on him," said the Olympic gold medalist.

I don't understand you Lennox fans. It's a cut. It's the angle the glove hit's the face. Like I already mentioned earlier in this thread - how many fights get stopped on cuts? Small percentage. Is it a valid win - of course. It's more of a technicality though.

Walking away from $50 million is almost cowardly. I'd fight Vitali for $5 million.

An english man siding with another english man. That's not bias at all.

Just a cut? The sun is just a little warm at the center too.

You'd fight Vitali for $5mil. Who are you again? Are you going to train year after year, rise thru the amateur ranks and then the pro ranks and earn that $5mil? Somehow i don't think so. Sanders got paid less than a million when he faced Vitali. He had 39 pro wins including a decimation of Vitali's bro. You don't just get $5mil for doing nothing. After Tyson - Spinks there was dozens of casuals at work ranting on how they'd fight Tyson for $13mil like it was some big proclamation. It just doesn't happen like that, apparently.

Walking away from $50mil means jack to a guy like Lewis. The man has $140mil and ALL his marbles intact at this stage. He has three kids, a wife, good health and alllll that money. I'm sure he earns plenty enough yearly to keep a smile on his face too. If anything he should be praised for getting out at a good time. Others weren't so lucky.

Yes, he scored an epic victory over the magnificent McCall.

If I were a Riddick fanboy, I'd still be shouting that he beat everyone he faced. And it wasn't some recovering drug addict who cried in the ring. I hear about it all the time – he beat everyone with Lewis, but no one cares about it with Bowe. Riddick has poor PR, which doesn't resonate with the bar crowd who loves these kinds of slogans.
I think you should add a few more exclamation points, it should reinforce these victories

Bowe doesn't have the resume Lewis does hence it not being talked about as much. Bowe doesn't make the top 10, Lewis rarely misses out and is usually top 5 or top 3.

The greater you are the more you get acknowledged.

    Long live The Lion.

    Hi brb.
Of all the fighters that you could have suggested had a massive ego, Lewis is not one of them, I have spoke to him a few times, and a nicer man you could not wish to meet, he always has time for the fans, whether to just talk or sign autographs, in fact considering his achievements, he is a humble man, not one to brag, a chap asked him in my presence would he have beaten Bowe, he replied that it was not a certainty, and said if he were to win, it would not be easy, so not sure where you are coming from when you say he has a massive ego, unless you have anecdotes and instances where he portrayed arrogance and conceit ?
    stay safe buddy, chat soon.

It's good to hear that he is a nice guy. I've met Bernard Hopkins and Teddy Atlas which was pretty cool. I'd imagine meeting a HW champ has got to be amazing. I've got nothing against LL. The only time I get annoyed is when this potential fight comes up. He was very dismissive of Vitali at the end of their fight. I know they are friends (?) now, but the way he was talking about him was pretty messed up. He was saying in the next couple rounds he was going to knock him out (which I think would have gone the other way). If you are going to say stuff like this I expect you to fight him again. And now he is spouting off "I can't see why no one is able to figure out Usyk, If I was boxing today, I'd been able to figure him out".

Point I'm making here is if you are going to run your mouth you should back it up.

Jakub, you literally put Vitali above Lewis on your list of the best HWs of all time. You’re fighting a lost battle just give it up, man. We all know you hate Lewis and can’t even try to be impartial when his name comes up. No need to pretend, it’s obvious.

Ok, no problem bro, but look : I dont't ranked Vit higher, but Wlad definitely yes. As for Vitali, it's hard to say. I think he was better head-to-head, but he would have lost to a prime Lewis because, of all the ATG heavyweights, literally all of them, Lewis was a stylistic nightmare due to his best, strongest overhand.
Lewis's arm reach, which never ages—although his fanboys will say it was probably much shorter in 2003 than it was two years earlier—meant Vitali, whose ONLY defense was to lean back on his back leg—ALWAYS—would be vulnerable to Lewis' signature punch, which looks great on highlights and was indeed great.
Is that hate? No, this is a reliable assessment of a man who, 20 years after retiring, has become a boxing saint who can't be criticized, even though he's earned criticism as someone considered a top-five fighter—no way. He's not close, and I've always proven that factually, never on the principle of "he's not and that's it." He has no great victories, only disastrous defeats. Two weak fights with the declining Evander, which looked like another Holy Ruiz, a beating of a completely destroyed Tyson, and a cut on Vito don't earn him a top-five spot. There were too many McCall, Mercer, Rahman, Bruno, Mavrović. The knockout against Botha and Hashim are my favorites, but it's been the other way around, and I don't know of any fight that would justify it. Add to that the relinquishing of belts, a lack of fights with top contenders for a decade, avoiding difficult rematches, and a dislike of fighters fighting from the opposite position dating back to his amateur days.

Lewis ranks between 9 and 12 for me. Given his resume, I know it's hard to rank Vito higher. Wlad was better for me. When he was finishing his career, Lewis was ranked that way, and when he was at his absolute peak, The Ring probably ranked him outside the top 25. Now that's some real hatred!

    Hi Buddy.
Thanks for prompt and polite reply, I didn't remember that he said he was going to knock him out, and I agree that didn't look plausible, so I concede on those matters, for what it's worth I believe he would have figured Usyk out, and would favour him to come out on top, for me a motivated, fully fit, focused Lewis, was a formidable adversary, and H2H he was capable of beating the very best, his wait to be fully appreciated was unjustified, but I have never heard him complain to that effect, I would rather have young fighters, and young men look to Lewis as a role model as to how to conduct yourself in public, than the foul mouthed, disgusting, Fury.
Enjoyed our little chat, and props to you meeting Hopkins and Atlas.
    stay safe brb.
    Mike.

Dominant HW champions have historically done amazing in rematches of fights they lost or struggled in. Going with Lennox.
