    Recently, I've seen this hot take on Facebook. I feel like Tubbs edged Bowe in their fight 6-4. Just like Holyfield edged him 7-5. But can you argue for Tubbs beating Bowe clearer?

    I think Bowe beat closely but clearly Tubbs.
    Even the commentators seemed to agree to that.
    My scorecard :
    Bowe -> Rds 1,3,4,8,10
    Tubbs -> 5,6,7,9
    Even -> 2.

    As for Holyfield vs Bowe II, in general people give Bowe the first three rounds plus the 9th and 12th, the 7th even (I thought Bowe edged it) and the rest to Holyfield.

    Last time I scored it, I think I had it one round for Bowe. I'll check it out again when I'm bored.

    I think you'll find Riddick Bowe beat Tony Tubbs clearly.

    As someone who finds Bowe massively overrated, I've never understood the sentiment that Tubbs was robbed against him. Tubbs definitely overperformed given the fact that he'd seen better days, but Bowe won at least 6 rounds, one could even argue 7.

    I didn’t see it that way, though it’s been years since I’ve watched that fight. I remember it being close but thinking Bowe deserved the nod.

    Riddick beat Tubbs, pretty clearly but in a competitive boxing match.

    Holyfield beat Bowe in their second fight, also in a competitive fight but also, I think, quite clearly.

    I wouldn’t take FB posts as having anything to do with reality.

    Well, the notion that tubbs beat Bowe is older than Facebook. It was a common opinion in the 90's. That it was a clearer win than Holyfield's is controversial and might have been trolling, lol.

    My memory is that people acknowledged Tubbs gave him a very close, and especially closer-than-expected, fight. I don’t remember any controversy around the decision or a lot of people believing Tony won.

    But we didn’t get the kind of instant-reax stuff we get now with forums and social media, so maybe there were more who saw it that way than I realized. But there was no call for a rematch because ‘robbery’ or whatever.

    When this happened it was said by the entire world that Bowe was very fortunate to get this verdict. All these years later, and the official narrative has solidified that Bowe just edged it.

    Riddick Bowe vs Tony Tubbs

    1 Bowe
    2 Tubbs
    3 Bowe
    4 Tubbs
    5 Tubbs
    6 Bowe
    7 Bowe
    8 Bowe
    9 Tubbs
    10 Even

    95-94 Bowe

    Close fight this was Bowe's Doug Jones and James Tillis type fight a good learning experience before he become champion against a tricky veteran.

    Overall I thought Bowe edged it with his aggression and harder punches. Tubbs had a great defence and made Bowe miss a significant amount of punches, but he wasn't active enough to actually get the nod for me.

    Scored it for Bowe, 6-4 or 7-3. Draw would've been a gift to Tubbs, who still overperformed and was very competitive. No way he won the fight though

    Reportedly more than 80% of the ringside press scored it for Tubbs. Certainly all the reports I've seen which ventured a scorecard had him winning. The Press of Atlantic City by a comfortable 98-94 margin.
