Great boxer. Until he met a bloke called Jeffrey. Swore he saw the devil that night, joined a monastery & became a monk. True story.

Not as good as Pongsaklek Wonjongkam or Khaosai Galaxy. Better than most of the others.

Some say he was the greatest Muay Thai boxer of them all. Can't say myself, not my sport. Top 30 all time Thai boxer? Yeah, probably. Top 30 all time Junior Feather regionally from his part of the world? Yeah again. Top 30 world-wide? No, wasn't champ for long enough to make a case.

In natural ability, is he one of the best you've ever seen in boxing? You do know he spent like 1 and half years training boxing specifically?

And then you see him and it's like he's never done anything but box...

Greatest Muay Thai fighter who could have also done great as a boxer given his physical talents and skills but didn't seem to have that same commitment. Also ran into Jeff Fenech who brutalized him. He did manage to transition well enough from Muay Thai to boxing when he stopped Lupe Pintor and Juan Meza.

Always remembered his sick defensive reflexes of dodging many punches and follows up with a one punch KO. Very Roy Jones Jr esque.

It's hard to give him a lot of credit for what he did. He fought just five opponents of any substance. He beat Lupe Pintor who didn't come close to making weight for their fight and then retired for eight years. He beat Juan Meza at the end of Meza's career. This was his only successful defense. Jeff Fenech tore him a new one in his next fight. He came back after a 5 1/2 year retirement had a nice win over Tiger Ari. A few fights later he was blitzed by Eloy Rojas and retired. Not much in the way of career highlights.

Payakaroon is not top 50 in his weight class.
