How surprised would you be if Keith Thurman manages to beat Fundora?

Fundora is the rightful favorite in this fight and it's honestly hard to envision Thurman winning due to being the older fighter, inactive, and is at a physical disadvantage as well. How shocked would you be if Thurman actually pulls off a miracle in this fight?

"One-time" Thurman has fought one time in four years and is giving up an eleven inch reach advantage to Fundora.

While the old Fundora liked to get in close, the new Fundora truly began to use his reach after his first loss. After Thurman's first loss he disappeared until he was broke. There is a different mentality at play.

Thurman is on the wrong side of thirty, inactive, not dedicated and has never faced anyone like Fundora. Keith needs a real solid gameplan that is executable by a thirty seven year old inactive fighter in order to overcome huge disadvantages.

Hard to see a path for Thurman here... but I hope he gets his Rocky moment.

If he beats Fundora, he'll retire, then whilst 'retired' he will call out random fighters to get attention and use their names for relevance, then waltz his way back after 3 years for the most undeserved title shot.

 

I know I'm going against the grain but I'm backing Thurman to do it; stylistically I think he is a good foil to Fundora, and I think he has the power to knock him out.

 

Rooting for Thurman in this. But would be shocked if he won!

Thurman on his best day would be the favorite. I dont think too highly of fundora. If Thurman is on form he can win.

 

I dont know that Thurman on his best day shows up at 37 years of age, inactivity of one fight in four years, against monstrous physical disadvantages. I dont know that Thurman has in him

 

Not too surprising at all considering what Mendoza was able to do against Fundora. Im actually looking foward to seeing this fight, I think it will be a good scrap.

 

Fundora is very beatable; if Brian Mendoza can switch his lights out, there's no reason Keith can't. It wouldn't be the biggest shock to see it happen; it just depends on how rusty Thurman is.

 

This is a really good question. I don’t know if Thurman had life problems or if it was just disinterest in boxing but it’s so surprising how he let his career fizzle. The inactivity has been really sad for a guy that was quite good.

Fundora’s body seems like such an easy target, but he really hasn’t been hurt to the body that often. I do believe that the Thurman from the 2015 through 2018 would’ve beaten current Fundora but the challenge will be quite a bit more daunting at this point.

I do believe the Towering Inferno will win, but I will only be mildly surprised if Thurman pulls off the upset.
