AJ is 36. Having lived a clean dedicated pro athlete's life. Know how Usyk was still so good against Dubois 2? Because he lives the same way. And AJ is a few years younger.

AJ 36 is not Fury 36. All those times Fury was out binge eating, bing drinking, snorting coke, AJ was in the gym, getting on the scale every morning, eating nutritionist prepared meals, being sober.

And Usyk is a speed/volume/stamina fighter. Age takes that first. AJ is a strength/power fighter. Age takes that last.

AJ's got 4-5 years at world level, easy with the right training. Maybe 7-8. Don't forget Larry Holmes and George Foreman in the 90s, both with less diet discipline than AJ.

I think it's more of a mental thing and will do good to Joshua. Takes a bit to humble yourself and ask the guy who beat you to train with you. It means he accepted the position he's at. Not like Wilder who loses temper when confronted with his Fury fights. So yeah, I think Joshua will profit from his training witih Usyk and will be back mentally stronger. I doubt he could beat Fury, but I still think he would beat Dubois in a rematch or a Wardley. He'll be like just below the peak and possibly champion again at some point. And from a financial point of view, he will still fill arenas and people are gonna watch him.

Well, Usyk did "steal" AJ's fight vs Rico... Maybe you're on to something, lol.

No but seriously, I just think Usyk's willing to offer some advice and training tips if AJ's interested. AJ was the one who approached Usyk, not the other way around.

Maybe a bit, don't know about significantly.

AJ is a pretty old fighter and has been through a lot mentally recently sadly.

Bit OTT but Usyk does have that sly alpha I'm going to psychologically bully you while making you giggle uncomfortably with me vibe and there's nothing you can do about it you less talented peasant.

Such a ''nice'' silly fella isn't he? oh so you have to laugh with him don't you? :devil-king::firedevil:

Does he have the makings of a varsity athelete? Only time will tell. At 36 the odds on Joshua making a come back are slim.

But AJ himself asked Usyk to teach him how to jab.

AJ is a bum who will get chinned by Fury this summer

Can't train a chin or his small brain.

Honestly I think it’s embarrassing. To admit you don’t know how to jab at 35/36 and ask your biggest contemporary to become your new daddy.
It’d be different if Aj was 22 and had just lost to the sly old fox.
At this point whatever he can gain is less than what he loses in credibility for doing it

I don't think it will have a big impact in the ring, his limitations are clear and aren't traits that can be corrected with training.

I do think however it will have a massive impact on his life for the positive however. Usyk is the ultimate role model for him, and I have enjoyed seeing his personal growth.

No matter what you do if someone is better than you especially with their own jab especially with these lumbering heavies like AJ then it's straight into the trenches.

Usyk landing his up jab under AJ's in the 1st round was the call to curtains...then Dubious landing just one or two of his jabs and using it through the fight put AJ in life or death mode. Fury might have lost a lot with age and wars but he still knows how to jab a muffins face off, see madmudov sparring session in April for case in point. Ready for the big dosser who by the looks of things is going straight to Fury after a lay off because he would get chinned even in activity bout so is cashing out ASAP.

AJ will undoubtedly develop his knowledge and insight into the game. I do believe he’s an eternal student of the sport and willing to learn. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s physically intellectual enough to apply much of this knowledge. Not a criticism, just feel he reached his ceiling, possibly overachieved and is now in decline.

Can't train a boxing brain or your nervous system overnight.

Fury has Wardley and Dubious for sparring if he wants...better fighters than AJ. Who does AJ have? Nobody is giving him a Fury look. Dimensions maybe but that's it. AJ brings nothing Fury hasn't seen before.
