Who wins this slugfest? Neither man is backing down and are willing to clash in the center of the ring.

This would be like Walcott Marciano except Saad wont run out of gas. Rocky could hurt Saad and slow him down. Unless Rocky is stopped on cuts this could go 12 and be a draw if it’s 15 more chance of Rocky losing on cuts or maybe being able to stop Saad. We don’t know how Saad will bulk up which will matter.

Rocky will bury him. His slow start will be a liability and there won't be no miracle comeback vs an ATG heavyweight. Saad often took enormous punishment off light heavyweights before rallying, imagine a puncher like Marciano hitting him that often.

Marciano would have ended up pummeling him.
I see Marciano stopping him before the tenth.

Muhammad got battered by Qawi twice another small swarmer.

Ok Qawi is probably a bit more of a counter puncher but he also doesn't have hit anywhere near as hard as Marciano.

But still if Muhammad had no answers for Qawi there's no way he has any answers for Marciano.

Marciano would batter and stop the brave Muhammad in 8 rounds.

Yes love Rocky one of my favorite of alltime yet at same time have to admit one of most overrated champs by all his legions of fans. Thats where I get in trouble with my fellow Pisanos giving them a dose of reality.

Marciano closes the distance with ease, since Saad wasn’t much of a mover anyway, and with Saad’s lack of defence, solely relying on the earmuffs, Marciano is gonna find those gaps, he’s gonna bully him to the ropes and find those uppercuts, hooks around the guard, body shots etc.

Sure, it isn’t gonna tickle if Saad lands clean on Marciano, but I believe he’d be able to ride the punches and evade better than Saad, not to mention Saad likely doesn’t hit as hard as Marciano anyway.

Marciano would be the bigger guy in this fight; they both cut down in weight to fight at their optimum size, but Marciano found his about 13 pounds higher than Saad found his. Saad is going to stand and fight with him- he always fought that way- and I don't think that a guy that gets hit as much as Saad did has much luck trading punches with marciano. Five rounds.
You have to be delusional to see this as a close fight.

When was Rocky ever stopped on cuts? What elements of being elusive did Saad ever show in his career? What makes you think that he could take hard shots from Marciano for 15 rounds?

Honestly, as much respect as I have for Mathew Franklin ( at 175 ) this would probably be a mismatch. Saad isn’t taking those Suzie Q’s for long.

Rocky was cut many times though never stopped because of it. Second Charles fight would have been stopped immediately in any newer decade till now when his nose was split.

Do love the guy but doesn’t mean I’m delusional about his ability. Love Quarry too doesn’t mean I’m gonna go around saying he was all time great heavyweight.
I gave Rocky chance to draw or maybe stop him late but also chance Saad (or Matt) could cut him. Don’t forget this is a very good light heavy in his prime not a 42 year old like Archie Moore. If was prime Qawi he beats Rocky.

Your assessment of his chances with Saad is anything but the comments of someone that is a fan, quite the opposite. Marciano beat better light heavyweights than Saad, guys that turned out to be good heavyweights. Saad is a guy that stars slow, takes a heap of punishment and comes back at the end of fights......at 175. He's got virtually no chance of beating Marciano.

Putting so much onus on cuts, particularly due to one fight, is also extremely unfair to Marciano.

Moore had beaten a number of high ranked heavyweight contenders before he fought Marciano. He was also still the reigning Light Heavyweight champion. He was still reigning years after he fought Marciano. To try and demean Marciano's victory based on the age of a fighter who is well known to be an absolute freak at such late stages and who was for years later sure doesn't reflect a guy that loves Rocky ;)

This is boxing 101. And now Qawi beats him too?

    I'll depart the conversation lol
