The opponent had less than 1/4 the punching volume of Rocky, 1/4 the defense, and 1/4 he pressure. This is absurd!

If 200 lbs limit Holyfield coming in a rock hard 199 1/2 to Rocky’s 185 or 6. Evander is not a short or shot older fighter. This is a superior athlete to Rock better boxing skills taller longer reach heavier and just as conditioned and just as tough. Which means he slashes up Rock and stops him by 8th though Rocky gives a courageous effort.

Cruiser Holy didn't have enough power to really bother Marciano, over 15 Marciano is the General of the ring making Holy regret every inside brawl he decides to engage in, Holy's movement and speed will only get him so far, he gets in some nice counters and has his moments likely ahead on points like Walcott

Holyfield is a little under developed at cruiser to beat Marciano for mine.

Holyfield will be the bigger man with longer reach, as good of chin as rocky with just as much heart while being the better boxer. Round 9 TKO.

He beat Qawi Muhammad in his 12th professional fight lol. I don't think he was underdeveloped.

And damn near knocked Qawi into press row for the rematch. I think it may have been an overhand right that did it.. after Holyfield had already knocked him down with, I believe, a left hook.

At heavy it might be different but I favour the Rock at cruiser. He can easily pack on 10lb of muscle and still be at his best, a little more chicken , a little less bread.
I think he’d be the goat at cruiser

Physically mate, physically. He was 186 pounds when he beat Qawi, light years from the fully roided up heavyweight version ;)

At any rate if you think beating Qawi at the 12 fight mark signifies being ready to beat Marciano all the more power to you.

Take that into context. after being decisioned in the home towns of Valdez and Johnson, neither of whom would rematch him, Ezzard went on to create a sensation in knocking out two other contenders in Wallace and Satterfield before facing Marciano. Highlight reel stuff that eclipsed those close 10 rounders.

Holyfield gets lured into a slugfest after a good start and gets taken in 7, Rocky is too much.

When people are out gunned with the debate of Marciano beating modern super heavyweights they ll say oh but he d be the greatest cruiserweight of all time. He d kill everyone. Not so fast. If you take Holyfield for one your talking about a naturally elite athlete brought up as a prodigy with top training who is going to be 4 or more inches t aller have a foot more reach and 200 lbs to Rocky’s 186. Also Evander will be a young man unlike Rocky’s main competitors.
I was at the 2nd Qawi fight a man who was powerful tough as nails quick unrelenting and had cleaned up a great light heavyweight division except for M Spinks probably the greatest LH ever. But Evander was very tall a great boxer and puncher and danced gracefully around the ring and stopped Qawi in 4.
Marciano can’t beat him at best he loses a UD.
