Ideally he should fight someone like Hrgovic, Huni or even Gassiev. Realistically we’ll probably get the likes of Bakole, Vianello or Hysa (who is undefeated and highly ranked for some reason without any notable wins). I don’t think Parker, Torrez Jr or Ajagba will bite unless it’s a final eliminator for a world title show or a huge bag of money, prefebly both..
Okolie, Miller, Hrgovic, Bakole, or Gassiev would be okay. Please, no more shot fighters like Whyte or journeymen like Franklin.
Hrgovic is an ideal and somewhat logical next step... He's durable, he can box a bit, but will gas, has okay power but not particularly heavy. Get past him, and it'd answer most of the questions about Moses - if he has a glass chin or a poor gas tank, it'd show... If both are decent, he should win. It'd mark a proper arrival as a definite contender. It's probably a bigger step than they'll want, though... A better journeyman than Franklin or a lesser gatekeeper than Hrgovic is more likely, IMHO - I think they want to try and time his arrival at the top for soon after Usyk bows out, they're certainly in no hurry.
Frank Sanchez would be a good next opponent. He can hit a bit, he can box a bit and make Itauma work. Him being stopped by Kabayel is not a bad loss considering Kabayel is probably the # 2 HW.
I would like to go on the record that I think a lot of people in this forum have absolutely lost their mind when it comes to this guy, people want this dude to fight the best of the best and he’s only had 14 fights and he’s only 21 years old.
Itauma vs Anderson Both young, both very athletic heavyweights, both have had a ton of hype and marketing centred on being the next big thing. also, a marketable fight with it being UK Vs USA and both are quite alike in certain ways...it's just that Itauma is WAY better. But I'd watch it if Anderson looks good against Dacres.
Yea there is a weird thing going on here with Itauma. He is very young and only has a handful of rounds but also he is being pushed as a headliner/ppv main eventer who his promotion is targeting for a title shot this year. I agree with you he would benefit with more seasoning but that doesn't seem to be in the cards with how he's being moved. No one wants a ppv headliner of a prospect vs some journeyman, but his promoter wants him to be the headliner right now.
