Daniel Dubois is underrated

No Wardley DuBois is a pick em fight. Dubois while I never agreed with all the complaining and attempts to say he knocked out Usyk. Joke, Usyk knew the rules and could have got up anytime. Guess it helped sell the rematch. Dubois can be dirty but that is fighting. Wardley just hasn’t been tested like he has. I expect a gut it out war.

 

As a Parker fan I can't take away the fact that Wardley came in with a gameplan that worked.

As for what Andy Lee is doing... **** knows. They should have learned after the Joyce fight it was gonna be a bad idea to outsling a powerpuncher.

 

If he beats Wardley - it will be a really impressive victory.

 

I agree with you on that and it’s criminal that he doesn’t use it correctly, it’s as powerful a jab as you can get in any generation of heavyweights but he doesn’t have the patience to stay behind it and hold back his offensive mentality, he rushes everything he does in the ring.
If he only threw jabs at his opponent for the first 4 rounds either stepping in or countering if he flicked out 20 or 30 a round and connected with 20 percent they would be wary at the least.
But he is what he is and he is nothing more than physicality, he hasn’t got the brain to go setting traps or anything like that, he can only react to what is presented to him, he is easily figured out in the ring. When people say he doesn’t have the heart when it gets tough, it’s probably more like he doesn’t have the brain to figure it out and his team are absolute shite.

From what i have seen though, he is not interested in Fury or Parker due to friendships
That's 3 HW fights there that won't happen between top 10 rated HWs
I guess none of them will lose to the other

 

It's pertinent to point out in a thread that claims he's somehow underrated. If anything, he's vastly overrated based on beating a past-it AJ.

You have to look at the fights and where they were at the time re careers as well (like when Lewis beat Mason for example) it was Undefeated Miller, Undefeated Hrgovic, Undefeated Gorman, Undefeated Bryan.
Taking the fight with Joyce when he did, taking the fight with Usyk when he did

 

Undefeated Miller? Who has he actually beaten?
Hrgovic, who he beat via headbutting his way to a cut stoppage.
Gorman and Bryan wins? Really?
Joyce bashed him into submission.
Usyk made him quit twice.

...how exactly is he underrated again?

 

Tbf Kabayel as much as I like him has been far too choosey in his career
Alot of his issues are self made

 

Wardley will need a hail Mary ko, while being outboxed. Same as if he were fighting any other decent hw.

Self belief and mental toughness are one thing -- keeping them and staying focused when things are going sideways is huge. Dubois cannot do that. Plenty of fighters can't. Wardley, on the other hand, I'm not sure would even know what to do if a fight wasn't going sideways on him; losing every round while looking for that KO? Another day at the office for Wardley. Getting beaten up and having to pull a KO shot out of his ass? Another day at the office for Wardley.

Dubois is the more technically skilled of the two and he's got a damn good jab. But Wardley is in another class in terms of self-belief, mental toughness, and ability to stay focused while getting beaten up. And here, I think that up against a Dubois who just had any self-confidence left crushed by Usyk, Wardley is going to be too much. I expect Dubois to have some good moments, likely early on, but I expect Wardley to eventually turn it around (likely when hurt) and flatten Dubois.

Please no Howard Foster. Can we please import an American judge for this one who will let them fight it out?

Which was pretty damn good. He wasn't quite the master of it like Ali, Holmes, Thomas, Wlad, etc. But it was pretty damn good regardless.

And I have a feeling that Duboi's jab lands like the end of a telephone pole whacking you in the face.
