It went as many of us expected. Fundora put in a great performance and winning by stoppage. I'd love to see the WBC world champion fight Ortiz, but it's virtually impossible for a match between them to be arranged now. Ennis and Zayas will face each other in June, and I hope the winner of that fight faces Fundora.

 

Ortiz has been the interim WBC champion for over 18 months, when does the interim champion get to fifth the full champion in the WBC?

Also why was this fight (thurman vs Fundora) sanctioned by the wbd it Ortiz has been waiting as interim champion (and paying the WBC) since mid 2024?
