It's not bait, it's my stance, which is histories stance. You cast the bait by trying to put Gassiev forward in a thread that specifically speaks about heavyweight wins. That is bait. He's not a heavyweight win. It's not even debatable.

The consensus will be cruiserweight wins are not heavyweight wins. It will be an overwhelming consensus. History has already pre-ordained it. It's all good.

At ay rate the cruiserweight win over Gassiev will never go down as a heavyweight win and his cruiserweight resume won't be tacked onto his heavyweight resume. Not outside of fantasies and wishful thinking, anyway.

I wouldn't wipe my ass with most of their opinions. I checked the names and the no votes had far more quality posters in there.

 

In general, Lewis, when it comes to heavyweights, is Lewis. Usyk is excellent, but I'm not sure he would have beaten AJ and Fury a few years ago. In my opinion, he didn't face the best versions of either of them, and those fights were very close.
I'm not counting the cruiserweight fights.
Usyk doesn't have the impressive, dominant wins that Rahman 2, Botha, Grant, and Ruddock have, which are Lennox's best wins. I also think he looked more impressive in Holyfield 1.
I like Usyk, but we can't look at him through the prism of the prestige of the victory, but rather through how he actually looked in the ring. To me, he looked great, but Lewis even better

 

Usyk would never get one punched KO'd by Hasim Rahman and Oliver McCall

 

Worldwide far fewer people would care. A good win is a good win.
