He would.

I'd sooner see Joshua-Wilder. Both are faded, should have happened a decade ago, but still a somewhat interesting fight.

 

I’d say let’s see Wilder vs Ruiz/Whyte/Joyce and Fury vs Joshua, then the winners square off in a farewell bout. Though I’m not getting my hopes up especially the part about Fury stepping in with Joshua.

 

Yes, Belly has always had a morbid fear of Joshua.

 

Itauma v Wilder would be great fun. Deontay would have no choice but to let his shots go, or he'd simply get drowned from the first bell. And it would be lovely to see Moses actually get punched in the face by someone who could hurt him.

 

If AJ can't get Fury, Wilder is an option. Many years overdue, though.

 

Cleanly and it would have been handily without a partisan ref.

In fact, Chisora should have been disqualified when his cornerman jumped in for no reason.

Wilder has no power left, or it was overrated to begin with

 

I have a few options.

Joshua - the obvious one. But then again I wanna see Joshua fight Fury more and I don't want anything else to derail that goddamn fight.

Ngannou - I genuinely have been wanting to see this for years. Two of the hardest punchers in combat sports history, if not the hardest. I don't necessarily think Wilder has an advantage here just because he is a boxer. If anything, Ngannou arguably showed better boxing skills against Fury than Wilder did thrice. Hell, put it in MMA gloves, haha. Someone is going to sleep.

Joyce - I would've liked to have seen this years ago when it was billed as "the unstoppable force vs the immovable object." Still think it would be a hell of a fun fight though. I feel like Wilder's punch power has decreased more than Joyce's chin. Would also complete the Joyce-Parker-Wilder-Zhang foursome.

Ruiz - Battle of two former world champions. Both American. Makes sense. Again, would be a fun fight.

Wardley - I feel like Wardley's youth and probably better skill would be a huge advantage but still, Wardley has gotta be the closest thing we have to a Wilder of today... the guy that gets outboxed but can put you to sleep in a second. Wardley vs a prime Wilder would be better, but alas, that's impossible.

Any of them, or Wilder fighting one of the other Americans... Hunter, Anderson, Miller, Torrez Jr, Franklin, Martin, Edwards. They're not world class (currently) but some of these guys need to fight each other... try and get the American heavyweight scene going again.

 

Wilder wouldn't test him out at all. Itauma would blow there either of those guys in a couple of rounds. Prime Wilder when he could actually shoot the right hand with speed and authority might have been able to test him, but not now. Likewise a fresher Chisora might have been able to make it ugly and take him to deep waters. That being said Wilder being brutally KO'd is a net positive for boxing so I wouldn't complain.

 

Plus, I always found it a bit weird how you can possibly be coached by someone you KO-ed, even if some do think it was a dive. Even if Scott is a good friend of Wilder's, there's always naturally gonna be that feeling of, 'How can I really look up to you?' You don't need your coach to be your friend, you need him to be a coach first and foremost.
