Let's rate Wilder's resume

If we compare with everyone who fights as a pro.. it's at least an A-.

If we compare with everyone who holds a belt, even if they lose it on the first defence... It's more like a C.

If we compare with champions who hold belts for a long time... It's an F.


Context is everything.

If that list is in order of best to worst, I wouldn't place the fight with old shot Chisora at the top, even given the fact that Wilder is shot too. I'd place Stiverne1 at the top simply because Wilder was uncharacteristically sound with his fundamentals in that fight. Arreola was clearly shot by the time he faced Wilder, and Washington was never a serious top contender, so I'd rate them a bit lower as well, although that's of far lesser importance. So essentially, swap Chisora and Stiverne1 and the list is pretty accurate.

 

It's better that 99% of heavyweights and he reigned as champion over more consecutive fights at heavyweight than all but like four or five guys.

 

I mean I’m not gonna pretend he’s something he’s not but people line up to crap on the guy, but he made the most of what he had.

 

Literally not a top 10 hw there considering he was champ with like 10 defences his whole resume is a damn squib and when he did step up he got easily beaten guy was just an American fraud that they tried to hard to make special

Both Ortiz wins are very good in my book.
Stiverne 1, Breazeale, Helenius and Chisora are good wins.
And there's a legit draw against Fury.

 

It’s poor. 42 year old Chisora is actually one of his best wins.
The amount of 35 + year olds Wilder beat is silly, it makes Marcianos resume look like a youth centre membership list

I said B- which is based on accomplishments, his resume by itself is probably C- as only Ortiz is on it . He did beat Ortiz which was ranked I think 5th and he did have 10 defenses. But he was not that great but it was enough to beat everyone but 3 people

I will remember Wilder for being the manufactured belt holder of his generation.

He avoided virtually EVERY single legitimate contender during his career. Whether it be the older experienced guys like Klitschko, Povetkin, Pulev, or the young hungry challengers like Kabayel, Ruiz, Whyte, Hrgovic or the belt holders like Usyk, Joshua, Dubois, Parker, is proof he was manufactured based on the fact he was the best American HW of a completely dead American HW era.

Would Wilder even have earnt himself a mandatory spot if he was a European HW? I have serious doubt about that. What Wilder's resume tells me, is that without question, it was he who avoided Joshua during their careers.

Joshua fought Klitschko, Povetkin, Pulev, Usyk, Parker, Ruiz, Whyte etc, the idea he avoided Wilder is ridiculous.

Once Wilder lost to Fury, he was forced to try and earn a spot at a title again. He fought Parker and Zhang in an attempt to do that, and was comfortably beaten by both. Wilder is an ATG alright....An ATG manufactured champion.
