What next for Wilder?

personally i'd rather him fight a few names from his era and call it a day. considering at this point fights with Ruiz, Whyte & Miller are still considered possibly competitive, makes money and save whatevers left of his legacy. its worth going that road.

these young guys too fast & powerful for wilder at this point. anyone from this new gen beating wilder feels like a easy way to get a name on there record.

To be honest, I'd rather see Wilder actually fight the guys he was supposed to fight all these years ago especially in Ruiz and Whyte as they're also shot - but it would be interesting match-ups still. Fighting Miller wouldn't prove too much but it would be entertaining pre and during the fight.

However, I think we both know that Wilder is too shot for AJ.

 

Comfortable retirement i hope. He said it himself after the fight "Too many lives lost, no-one gives a f**k about us, we fighters need to look out for each other". I hope one of them tells him straight its time. I dont need to see him flattened by either a young tiger or someone he shouldve fought years ago. Why risk it all for a few (million) more coins on the pile. I know he has many mouths to feed but he should be looking for a nice TV commentating gig and a bit of after dinner speaking.

 

We don't know how shot is AJ tho. Dubois smashed him to pieces and the only time we seen him in the ring after that was against a YouTuber. And after that, he had an almost fatal car crash. He may be as shot as Wilder, but it remains to be seen.

 

AJ was probably holding back against Jake Paul to be honest.

Wilder has lost to Parker and Zhang and AJ has proven they are better than both of them, and AJ's style is simply terrible for a shot to bits Wilder.

 

Even if he did, it didn't tell us anything regarding his level of being shot. Wilder would probably do the same job on Paul.

 

against bums who let him through it from the other side of the football field. if you let any world champion in the past get away with those shots they would also hit like wilder.

When you say "43 KOs in 45 fights is not overrated".....Why do you not take into account the opponents? I'm not a professional fighter, but I'd KO 45 paraplegics if I fought 45 of them, context is everything.

Deontay Wilder has ZERO wins against the top 20 HWs that have competed during his Era, yet held the WBC belt for 5 years. His best victory is against Luis Ortiz, a man who was hyped as some kind of 'bogeyman', despite the fact Dave Allen is genuinely one of his best career victories.
