Who will you be rooting for: Makhmudov or Fury?

Fury is a nobody in human terms and that's enough to make me want Makhmudov to knock him out...

 

At this point what would be the point of that fight? Both are well past the expiration date. Joshua is a mentally fragile Glass Jawed fighter but Fury doesn't have the power to stop him because he is feather fisted. Both are flawed and at this point I'd probably favor AJ even with all his deficiencies.

 

Should they just both retire instead then?

He comes across as a gentle giant and a gent; his prospects against Fury are very remote, but I will be rooting for him.

Why is that?

Furys main claim to fame is beating Wlad who lost to guys like Sanders and Brewster. If Fury is a hype job why should that reflect poorly on the division as a whole?

He's built a decent resume. Hard to argue against that.

 

I wish Fury would just go away.

His schtick became boring years ago.

Good take. Like it or not, Fury was a top dog for a long time. I don't mind him losing at all; but preferably not to a mediocrity that Makhmudov is.
