Kabayel is levels below Fury and Mak wasn't competitive with him..

And frankly Fury not even picking Kabayel just shows he wants to pretend that hes picking a real fight when he really isn't.

Makhmudov is decent, he's not competitive with a world champion. This booking is a farce.

What evidence do we have that Kabayel is levels below Fury?

Then you should take a closer look! Because you're not seeing him as clearly as you should. There's a reason why everyone at Heavyweight is ducking him.

It's quite the opposite. Makhmudov is a Top 15 HW in the world. Fury is 37 and coming back off of 16 month lay off. The match up is perfectly fine, especially looking at Fury's matchmaking throughout his career. Mak is better than Seferi, Pianeta, Tom Schwarz and Ngannou. May even be a better fight than Chisora III in 2022.

Gatekeepers can be dangerous if you have an off day or picked the wrong strategy

Kabayel is 27-0 with 19 KOs, only 33, in his prime and destined to win a world title when he gets the right opportunity. He already holds the WBC interim title.

You must rate the nearly 38 year old, between retirements Fury extremely highly if you rank him levels above Kabayel.

If Ngannou could handle Fury on equal terms then Makhmudov could do the same, but I doubt we'll see that version of Fury again, the most likely outcome is a clean UD for Fury but I'm rooting for Makhmudov and I want him to win...

The fact that you view Kabayel as a gatekeeper, reveals how little you comprehend about the sport of boxing.

He very much has the style to beat him. The fact that you can't see that, validates my last response to you.

Boxing is timing, really. Danny Williams wasn't a world beater when he went up against Tyson. I think Fury is going to be unmotivated, and the years of bingeing and all those Wilder wars are going to catch up with him. We've seen the Joshua vs Fury matchup hit a number of bumps over the years, with both losing, and now people are talking about it again. I can see Fury looking very flat, getting dropped, or getting a dodgy decision because it's on Netflix, and the Joshua fight losing even more appeal than it already has.
