So Usyk was essentially offered an amount of money he could not turn down.

If it goes the distance it will be like apollo creed being lambasted for "how much did you get paid to carry that bum".

 

Tyson Fury sums up Rico Verhoeven’s chances of beating Oleksandr Usyk:

Talking like 350 amateur fights don't put any mileage on the clock.

But it's nowhere near the same as having had a long professional career, with twice as many fights etc.

 

I'm not being funny I dont care how many miles Usyk has on the clock, I'd expect Wlad Klitschko to be able to beat Rico now. He is a world class kickboxer but he is a novice boxer. I dont want to hear about sparring this and sparring that, sparring isnt the same. Only way Rico will beat a world class fighter is if they dont train, turn up out of shape and uninterested.

Dont you think that can be very debatable?
A fighter could have twice as many fights but several could have been first round blow outs on the way up.
Not that you have made this comparison, but looking at the fighters in question on this thread - Usyk and Fury
I would think it could be argued Usyk has had an overall tougher career am and pro

Fury has had 37 pro fights to Usyks 24
Amateur fights Fury i think had 35 to Usyks I read was I believe 350

Professional rounds of boxing I think Fury has had 254 and think Usyk had 206

Do you not think Usyk may have had a tougher career overall?

 

Rico is a decision guy in his own sport.
