The vast majority of those are unknown part-timers. Teper was 39 and shot to pieces - a Euro level contender even at his best.

How doesn't it make sense? The two aren’t mutually exclusive: Makhmudov can be a soft touch, and Fury can still be far from his best. The concept of the "comeback fight" is mostly redundant and it certainly is here. Fury should get in with the winner of Dubois and Wardley if Usyk persists on avoiding the unification.

Your not saying Furys far from his best and Makhmudovs a soft touch.

Your saying makhmudov can knock Fury out but hes still a soft touch. The reality is if Makhmudov can knock him out its not really a soft touch. Its a solid comeback fight.

I agree Fury should get in with Wardley or Dubois. But you need to start somewhere after a 16 month layoff at 37 after 2 back to back defeats etc.

Eh? I am saying that Fury is far from his best and Makhmudov is a soft touch. Both of these things can be true.

Fury could be knocked out by lots of rubbish heavyweights. He's always been prone to being dropped and at this stage of his career that is only going to be amplified. That doesn't mean that Makhmudov isn't a rubbish opponent that they think is tailor-made for him.

Your previous post said Fury has been knocked down about ten times, been inactive, hes old and Makhmudov can knock him out then say hes a soft touch. They are mutually exclusive.

The fella,s 265 lbs. Hes 6 foot 5 and a half. Can punch. Can go 12 rounds. Fury is old. Inactive for 16 months. Coming off the back of 2 defeats. Long career etc.

The plan obviously is to box the stiff guy for an easy nights work. The plan is to pick an opponent that wont beat you. But Makhmudov far from a soft touch taking into account all thats listed. It should be straight forward. But you cant really ask for someone in Furys position to go up against anyone better than Makhmudov as a comeback fight at this stage.

Eh? That’s not what “mutually exclusive” means. Makhmudov can be a soft touch and still be dangerous enough to do X, Y, or Z, and Fury can be past his best. Those ideas don’t cancel each other out. Pajkic was a soft touch and he still floored Fury. That doesn't mean he wasn't handpicked to make Fury look good.

    "The fella,s 265 lbs" So?

"Hes 6 foot 5 and a half." So?

"Can go 12 rounds." Because he's done it versus Dave Allen who has minimal output? lol

"Fury is old." Sure. He's a year older than Makkmudov.

    "Inactive for 16 months." Yes.

"Coming off the back of 2 defeats" Yes

    "Long career etc." Yes

Your premise is Furys old. Inactive. Hes had a hard career and Makhmudov can knock him out. But hes also somehow a soft touch. They arent mutually exclusive. A soft touch is meant to be a pushover.

No one has ever described Makhmudov as a soft touch or a push over. 265 lbs. 6 foot 5 and a half. Can punch. Has went 12 rounds. Then you take into account Furys lay off. Boxing age. Back to back defeats etc.

Fury gets a lot of joy tiring guys out leaning on them with weight and height advantages. A 6 foot 5 and a half opponent 265 lbs lessens that advantage.

I think Fury deals with him but its anything but a soft touch opponent when taking everything into account. Who do you want him to fight 16 months off, 2 back to back defeats, hard career, advanced boxing age etc?

Kabayel smashed Big Makhmudov to pieces three years ago and Big Mak is bang average at best.

This is a very soft comeback fight as expected but it would be funny if Fury got chinned.

Should this shock happen, at least Fury has the Jake Paul fight as back up to convince the public that there is merit in a fight with Joshua.

Can’t agree with that “bang average” summation of Kabayel. He was excellent against Makhmudov moving from head to body and he schooled Chisora in a manner that some decent world champions couldn’t do. Kabayel is easily a top 5 active HW from what we’ve seen of him so far.

Beating Makhmudov, Sanchez and Zhang consecutively is some run, took two zeros in the process. Not his fault he keeps getting overlooked for a title shot.

That was directed towards Mak and have done an edit.

Kabayel should be facing Usyk next.

Ah, fair. I thought Makhmudov started well in that Kabayel fight, was aggressive and landed some decent uppercuts early on. But the common theme is that he gasses so quickly. He’s a bit like David Price with a better chin. That’s why I think Fury will win comfortably. Even if Fury gets flattened in the first half of the fight he’ll just get up and move around for a few rounds until Makhmudov gasses.

Makhmudov will be dangerous in the first half of the fight but unless Fury’s punch resistance has suddenly worsened, he won’t be able to stop Fury. The inactivity from Fury will probably be conducive to his punch resistance.
