Breazeale was out of the ring for two years, looked terrible, and never fought again. Any attempted step up by him in his career was met with a violent KO. UD'ing a 2021 Breazeale is not a great win - it's a stay busy resume fight over a top 30 guy at best.

Gassiev had, and still has, proven NOTHING at HW. His only notable win is a 44 year old Pulev. Gassiev is again, a top 30 at best type guy now.

He got dominated by a 41 year old Chisora. Absolutely ragdolled. Where was his slickness, his nice jab, his back foot fighting? He's never going to be as good as some posters here want him to be.

These are overly harsh assessments. People do this to the record of every fighter they want to discredit, and to nobody as much as Usyk, Fury and Joshua, the three dominant heavies of the past 11 years. The reality is, Breazele and Gassiev are good win, regardless of the asterixes.

He's butthurt because Otto Wallin was seen as a Top 10 guy when AJ defeated him and he's desperate to prove otherwise for some reason. And we all know the reason, lol.

I figured it's something like that.

For a journeyman top 20 type guy like Otto, yes they're good wins.

For people trying to claim he's rank #5, they are very poor wins.

You have used the word "journeyman" incorrectly.

Guy, you spend too much time trying to feed your own confirmation bias. You have created a reality in your mind, and feel a need to rearrange facts in order to reflect that reality. Good luck to you.

I will not pretend that a 2-years out of the ring retirement fight Breazeale and an inactive Gassiev are good wins. Set up a poll and see what reality is if you don't agree with me. Good luck.

Given that he's lost to an old Chisora and looked absolutely feeble against AJ he kinda has a point.

His best performance at heavyweight is still a loss to Fury where he blatantly tried to foul open a cut with his glove. The guy just isn't that good, which is a pity because I had higher expectations for his career.

This has nothing to do with how he was perceived going into the AJ fight. You can argue that he was a Top 10 without merit, but it doesn't change the fact he was consensus a Top 10 guy at the time.

That's an interesting way to look at it. Can't say I necessarily agree given who they've put in top tens ATM though

I compare it to Luis Ortiz being a Top 5 heavyweight for years with his best win being Bryant Jennings. You can argue he was a Top 5 guy without merit (as some of the posters here did) but you can't deny he was viewed and ranked as such.

I don't particularly rate Ortiz that highly either.

If you want to use technical rankings as justification for someone's wins/opponents then that's fine, I just don't agree with it. I imagine Wilder has had plenty of "top ten" opponents as defenses in the WBC for instance.

You mean like the poll you set up for "Does AJ want the Fury fight"?

    That's worked out well

Has it not? 80% of the forum thought Joshua wanted the Fury fight until last night. Opinion has shifted massively. There are still far, far more Joshua fanboys and Fury haters in the general population than the opposite, so anything close to 50-50 shows how low the estimation of Joshua actually wanting the fight has fallen.

Wow that's some mental gymnastics to deal with it

AJ isn't the greatest, nor the most skilled, he never was and most people see that and just accept he has done quite well considering

You on the other hand just want to constantly put him down

Your not credible when it comes to AJ as your history shows clear bias
