You're right. Makhmudov is not world class. He is more like a gun slinging journeyman veteran or a hard hitting fringe contender. Thats why it would be quite the disappointment if Fury struggles here. He should box the orcs face off with one hand tied behind his back Surely he wouldn't go life and death with a journeyman, I can't recall that ever happening with big Tyson
I don't think anybody thinks he's a world beater but he's a decent test for someone who's been out for so long, it's a fine enough opponent to gauge where he's at. Fury can be weird and struggle with fighters he doesn't think are that dangerous no matter what he says about every big guy can punch, you can't really predict what Fury will turn up but really he should run rings around him and stop him if he's properly switched on.
I agree with everything except the Makhmudov is decent part, the guys is clumsy and not very smart, zero infighting...him being labelled decent shows how far the heavyweight division has slumped
He must be the hardest puncher who ever lived because he has no boxing skill yet somehow is rated 5 in the world by the WBC or which ever org it was
That's the problem with a set of four rankings, you will find fighters who don't belong in a top five or top ten in at least one of them and the promoters and fighters can cite well this guy is in the top ten world rankings!
He can't be top 20. he cant cover distance. he runs forward and punches and blindly. and he can only throw haymakers.
It actually shocked me hearing that he had such an extensive amateur career, he turned pro at 28 I read. I don't know if he was fighting random bears in the woods of Dagestan all that time but you'd think he would learn how to close the distance better than that.
Fury is at the end of his career with his biggest fights and best days behind him,Kabayel has his biggest fights and best days in front of him,they are both clearly poles apart at this time in there respective careers.
