Why has Fury dodged the AJ fight for years?

Fury also avoided Glass Jawed David Price like the plague when both were up and coming undefeated fighters for some bizarre reason.

 

Joshua just said he isn't ready for it right now.

What more can Fury do?

The big stiff idiot (no disrespect he tried his best and was a good domestic fighter) had the stamina of a toilet, I think he could've dropped tyson but he was the classic glass cannon type of fighter. He would've been a nervous wreck after the first press conference as well, he couldn't even deal with an old Thompson putting the pressure on him.

 

Doesn't help both fighters fight ONCE a year.

 

I think Joshua has a better resume than him tbh

 

A while back now but sure Fury and Joshua signed to fight each other in the summer of 2020 to fight each other in 2021 if both got through there respective fights with Wilder and Pulev. Covid delayed the Wilder fight with Fury thinking the deadline had passed but the arbitrator ruled in Wilders favour forcing the third fight,meanwhile Joshua went on to lose to Usyk .

 

Why is this a shock all of a sudden, the guys ducked dived and dodged his whole career. Not just avoiding AJ.

Had* because that appears to be changing rather rapidly. You don't see Fury fighting Jake Paul for instance.

 

Fury appears to think he'll fight twice more, so that would be a nice change of pace

 

I don't think Makhmudov adds much to Tyson's resume, hovers around a Hammer, Wallin level of opponent. Joshua hasn't exactly enhanced his since Usyk with Franklin, Wallin and Helenius. Running after a novice like Paul and breaking his jaw for millions is irrelevant to his actual record just like demolishing Ngannou doesn't mean anything except he did what Fury for whatever reason failed to do. Fury could have beat down the healthy jawed Logan Paul as a response so he gets credit for taking on an okay tune up instead. There's a case for both having a better Klitschko victory and both have competitive losses to Usyk. Fury has the epic Wilder trilogy. Deontay was a contradictory limited but dangerous fighter and those three fights define them both, then Fury has a bunch of decent other scalps. Joshua has a slightly higher quality of scalps but the Ruiz loss and disappointing 'revenge' and getting washed by Dubois are massive detriments to his resume. Really him and Ruiz oughtve had a third fight and that could have defined his legacy further but Ruiz has no discipline or ambition so it was pointless,
