Joshua's reaction was disappointing. I was expecting him to agree to a fight, but his behavior showed he doesn't really want it. Maybe he has his eyes on Deontay Wilder for his next fight, or maybe he just wants to retire.
Didn't Joshua also defend against Molina, after Wilder had KO'd him? Price in Britain would have been a much bigger money fight than Molina, but Price KO'd Joshua in sparring worse than Dubois did. Jennings also would have been a better opponent than Molina. Ortiz better still.
Wasn't the Molina fight a contractual thing where if Haymon allowed Martin to fight AJ, a couple of his guys get shots That's the reason him and Dominic B got shots Nobody gave a crap about Price at that point and he was begging it AJ was in the stage that he could sell a building out fighting a broomstick so it worked for all parties And please, how do you know it was worse than the Dubois knock down? Like you saw it...
Joshua will duck Fury to fight a shot to pieces 41 year old Wilder next: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/joshua-will-duck-fury-to-fight-41-year-old-wilder-next.748287/
You are putting way too much on the name of someone who has 0 boxing victories. Performing well but ultimately losing against an untrained Fury is something, but it's far different climbing the ranks and establishing yourself as an actual pro boxer. Trying to extrapolate a ranking or ability level based on a losing effort to an untrained fighter in a circus fight is wild speculation. Let's see how Ngannou fares against ANY top 20, even top 50 fighter before we go claiming he's some world beater. Saying he is without him proving it is not how boxing works. The truth is, Ngannou wouldn't be the favorite against Dave Allen.
Then it shouldn't have taken place at all. A former unified champion shouldn't be entertaining these fights, it's bad for the sport.
We will just have to agree to disagree on pretty much every single component of this entire discussion this time lol. I think Ngannou would be the favorite, and I think you can extrapolate quite a bit off of 12 rounds. Also never said Ngannou was a world beater. Im just saying hes better than Mak and Allen, and that manufactured boxing records dont mean much to me. Unfortunately we will likely never know either way what Ngannous real level was at, his ship has pretty much sailed at this point.
Fine to disagree. I see what you're trying to do, but I don't think you can extrapolate a ranking and ability off of two performances. One was better than expected, but a lot of that had to do with Fury looking horrible and not training for a circus fight. The second piece of evidence is Ngannou showing absolutely nothing against a Joshua who hadn't had an early KO in a long, long time. These two things, with literally nothing else, don't add up to a guy being a good win for me. To each their own.
