We don’t know what we’re going to get from Spence. A guy who hasn’t fought for three years obviously has a lot of question marks. He looked fat and rubbish on the pads but he has time. To be honest I don’t think beating Spence at this stage of his career means a whole lot. As for Diaz I don’t like his style for Tim. But at least he’s giving him game plans now something inexplicably that Igor never did according to Tim and Tim himself. Inconceivable that a world champion never had game plans. No wonder French said they should be wearing red noses and clown suits.

 

Eddie Hearn did his level best to disrupt that Netflix card at the weekend.

First it was Hearn claiming Pograis was injured - which turned out to be true.

Then Hearn tried to have Huni removed from the card, claiming he is still contracted to Matchroom.

Matchroom Boxing on Saturday, hours before Justis Huni was supposed to fight Frazer Clarke on the Fury-Makhmudov card, sent Goldstar Promotions and Tasman Fighters a legal letter claiming it still has Huni under exclusive contract. Matchroom claimed after Huni’s last fight, a KO loss to Fabio Wardley, that it elected to continue its deal with Huni and that he is on fight 5 of a 6 fight deal. Matchroom accused them of interference with its agreement, claimed it was never informed of the Clarke fight and that it had not given its consent for Huni to participate. It threatened go to Netflix claiming it was about to air a fighter in breach of his contract with Matchroom, which would open Netflix to liability. Matchroom said it tried to work things out and sent a draft amendment in recent days saying it would allow the fight under certain conditions but had not heard back from the other promoters.

Spencer Brown of Goldestar Promotions later said "the thing with Matchroom is very silly, very petty and it will be sorted out."

Jackson England fighting in June maybe in Perth I hear. Can he win a world title? Ranked 5th in the IBF. Has plenty of time on his side. If he wins a world title he should be knighted and have his name changed to Sir Jackson England.

The Wollongong product also revealed that close friends Jamie Myer and 'Richo' are organising a special fundraiser event in his honour, with plans underway for a Shannan Taylor night at Bulli Workers Club.
' My great friend Jamie Myer and Richo are organising a fundraiser/Shannan Taylor night soon and hopefully it will be at Bulli Workers (TBA),' he said.
Hoping the Bulli Blaster wins the biggest bout of his life.

 

Sounds like Toa's off that card now, over 2 years out of the ring at this point.

I'd like to see Teremoana fight the likes of Ivic & Talivaa.

 

Yeah, Kiki's been out too long to give Teremoana a run for his money. Teremoana will be fighting Bowie Tupou 29-7 (20) on Slow Eddie & Sam Labruna's 29 April show in Melbourne.

Slow Eddie is supposed to be putting on seven shows in Australia this year. If Teremoana is on all of them & headlines a few, he will be able to face pretty much all of the locals who have been mentioned on these pages as worthwhile opponents. Maybe finish the year off with a domestic blockbuster against Big Nasty.

 

I'd still take a 2 years out of the ring Leutele over a 2026 Tupou.

 

Most definitely. Looked in great shape for the Huni rematch, which was unfortunately pulled as that would of been another classic.

Just make Leutele vs Goodall. Two guys that have been inactive but will give us a tear up. Hemi Ahio also needs a fight, been far too long

 

Mark De Mori can.make a run to heavy weight glory I reckon. He's looking prime. Only had 4 losses and 44 wins. One of the up and comers no doubt.

Bowie was handy in his day but he's 43 now and Teremoana will likely send him into another retirement. Hopefully his final one.
