Exactly, that’s what makes it so absurd.

In reality, calling out the biggest names on the biggest platforms just keeps him relevant, but unless Zuffa intend to cash him out with a big fight and a rematch clause, the next opponent will probably be underwhelming.

To be honest, even a banged-up Florian Marku feels more in line with where Conor is right now.

Hearn does seem to have the most influnce when it comes to retired boxers and YouTube 'journalists' I criticise him a lot, but I have to give him credit, he knows how to create spin and manipulate the narrative to favor his interests.

 

At a guess, crimes against fashion, although to be fair Benn could probably run him very close in that department.

To be fair Taylor was calling Benn a cheat 2/3 years ago.

He’s got plenty when the spotlight’s blazing. I’m sure if he was here he’d brag about his 3 million followers, the packed dressing room after every fight, and his loving family claiming it proves all the haters are just jealous.

Where do you think Conor Benn ranks among the most disliked British boxers of all time?
I'm struggling to think of some names that were more disliked.
James Degale was pretty unpopular, but nothing compared to Benn.
Bellew and Haye and Naz had their moments, but they also had long stints of being popular.
Eubank Senior and Junior played up to it, but I think most people knew that and played along with their pantomime.

 

Most of those guys are just disliked for some of their showmanship or a personality flaw. Their ability and some of their bouts are top notch. Benn is unique imo because I don't think I can recall anyone else quite like him, a boxer who is disliked in every single area including his performance ability. I have never, ever seen a person, hardcore or casual, who likes Benn in any capacity. Even guys who never really did anything like Audley Harrison have had some fans I've seen.
