Great post. Lot's of ridiculous statements. For fun, we should swap over their resumes, before giving honest, objective opinions. Terence is great. But there's every chance that he could have picked up the odd loss, had he have followed Oscar's timeline.
There is nothing to suggest that Terence would have beaten everyone on Oscar's resume. It is a monumental call based on nothing.
DLH's best win at welter was vs Quarty and Whitaker Ike wasn't as slick as Bud and Pernall didn't have Bud's reach or power..
Bud would have jabbed Ike's head off and Whitaker never fought a fighter like Bud, Crawford was more powerful than Chavez at 147 and had a longer reach than Chavez and Ike.
We can go back and forth like this all day. Terence barely beat Madramov, and he never fought the guys like Oscar did. Look at who Oscar fought: Pea Chavez x 2 Quartey Mosley x 2 Floyd Vasquez Manny Tito Vargas Hopkins A joke of a comparison to the guys who Terence fought. And especially the specific versions who he fought.
Crawford could def win but I feel his resume is a bit weak. DLH has losses yes but his level of opp is levels ahead.
You don't know that. Sounds like you don't know much about Ike either. He had one of the best jabs in the game, and knew how to use it very effectively. And Whitaker fought Oscar FFS. Who was faster than Bud and also hit like a mule. He also beat Julio Cesar Vasquez, who was naturally bigger, and can hit. The same guy who defeated Winky Wright.
Vaquez was nowhere near Bud's level, Canelo would have destroyed him, you're seriously saying Whitaker could have beat Bud at 154?!
Do you know how to stay on an actual topic?? TC can punch, but lets not pretend he's KO artist. And who gives a damn about Canelo vs Vasquez? That's not even the topic. JCV was a very good boxer, as evident of him beating a very difficult Winky Wright. And making many title defenses. Now that doesn't mean he was elite, but he was a very good and difficult opponent for anyone at the time. And no genius, NO WHERE in my post did I say Whitaker beats Bud at 154. You have ZERO discussion skills...
Pernell, Floyd, and BHop dont fight similar? Is this a joke? Theyre literally all boxer punchers who let opponents lead. Yes, they all had different defensive styles but ALL of their styles had the same goal - counter punching. And they were all superb at that. Floyd used the roll, BHop distance, Pernell excelled at anticipation and letting people punch, miss, overextend into a violent counter. Bud did a bit of each of those styles - shame you apparently missed that throughout his career. Bud wouldve brutally stopped Tito - brutally. What separates Bud and DLH is that Bud is a bad guy (in the ring). Bud almost always went for the stoppage except when he was old and above 147. At 38 and 39 he accepted decisions, at 154 and 168, but prior to that he always fought for the finish even if he was way ahead. Bud decisions, not stops, Mosley whether hes on or off the juice. Pretty much nobody stops Mosley but once hes hurt he goes into survival mode.
Bud fought the best options he could get. For some reason you credit DLH for fighting people as if fighting them is the same as beating them. Yes, DLH fought a row of killers and lost half of those fights - that matters. Crawford won every fight though I think Madrimov was a draw. But Bud couldnt get a fight to save his life. Here's a list of prime opponents that DUCKED BUD: Pacquiao (more of a swerve than duck, but Roach passed twice including after Postol) Spence D Garcia Thurman Ennis Fundora Tszyu And prolly others...
