I wanted Norman to fight either Blair Cobbs or Harlem Eubank for his return. Both are winnable fights, and all the fighters have not been active recently, having fought about five months ago.
Lost a lot of interest in Norman after that Haney fight. He had looked incredibly impressive up until that stage, but his flat, drab performance against Haney was so disappointing. Getting dropped by Haney is bad enough, but not throwing the kitchen sink at Haney in the second half of the fight when Haney was on his bike was probably the most disappointing element of that performance.
Same here. I don't want to discount Haney's ability because he's a talented technical boxer, but Norman looked horribly unskilled and out of ideas quickly.
I expect a lot from Brian Norman Jr, I was even thinking before the Devin Haney's fight that he was the best Welterweight in the world after Jaron Ennis moved up in Super Welterweight. Now I still think he is the second head of the category after Devin Haney, and his victory and knocked out against Jin Sasaki was so impressive that I really hope he will be more modest and still at the top level mentally for to be a champion again. I'm going with a knocked out or a early soon stoppage for his return. Even if Josh Wagner is a also a decent boxer in the category, David Papot literally derailed the career of the Canadian.
Norman’s got the sharper tools and power at this level, but Wagner is awkward and can make it messy if he’s allowed to settle. Still, over the rounds I’d expect Norman to break him down
