Tyson Fury re-enters The Ring's latest ratings at heavyweight

Dubios runs the risk of charging straight into a counter like Parker did early doors though. Wardley might lack a lot of skill and experience but he appears to be rapidly improving with each fight. I have to give the man credit (especially since I've been a rather vocal critic of his since the Clarke fights).

 

His chin held up fine against Mahkmudov, and I think he's skilled enough to nullify any offense from Dubios and Wardley. "Destroy" is a bit premature.

 

Completely agree, its why its pretty much a 50/50 fight.

What I'm really interested to see is if Wardley can take a punch by a serious puncher. Clarke, Huni and Parker are not punchers, very much unlike Dubois.

 

The big puncher thing is where I'm worried for Wardley as well. It's one thing taking punishment and coming through against Frazer Clarke, Justin Huni and Joseph Parker, it's another thing to take that beating from someone with really good power. Dubois has that despite his defecincies, so how is Wardleys face going to look when it gets bashed in by Daniel?

I'm still picking Wardley but it's a good fight.

 

Mak doesn't punch as hard as Dubois and Wardley. He's also way worse of a boxer, especially than Dubois. And even he, being limited as he is, had some spots of success of landing punches against Fury. Dubois would be a grave danger to Belly. Wardley a bit less, but he still could chin him.

 

Dubois also, for all his faults, has an amazing jab. Wardley, despite still developing bout after bout, has had a lot of success constantly spamming his long pawing jab and body jab, which has set up a lot of his best moments later on in bouts. It will be very interesting to see how he deals with a triple jabbing ramrod bull who likes to get stuck in immediately. Personally I can't pick a winner yet.

 

Dubois's jab isn't great. Its powerful but its not particularly technical. He has been outjabbed by Joyce, Hrgovic and of course Usyk.

I do suspect though Dubois will win the battle of jabs against Wardley though.

 

That's fair. But these guys are all great technical fighters (well, Joyce is just more active, and DDD has improved since then imo) and Usyk is extremely hard to land an orthodox jab on.

Wardley isn't like them. He will have to somehow shut down or consistently defend Dubois' power jab. I remember @Serge linking a video where a sparring partner of both AJ and Dubois said that DDDs full power jab is as hard as an AJ right hand. Dangerous fight for Wardley imo.

 

Dubois landed more jabs in the Hrgović fight.

 

Top 3 is a little to high for me.

I think mid to low top 10 is more accurate.

 

Funnily enough I have it the other way around and consider Wardley more dangerous as he's unpredictable (if you've ever sparred newbies, you'll know), has a lot of heart and appears to be quite durable. Dubios on the other hand is very basic and got stopped by Usyk twice through jabs.

Dubios would only be a grave danger if he landed first, and even then I think Fury gets up from it and outboxes him rather comfortably.

 

Headbutts too.

 

Dubois only got stopped once through a jab. In the second fight he was stopped by overhand left. And Fury ain't Usyk, which we saw twice. Dubois would run through Fury at this moment. And I hope we will see this fight happening.

 

My bad: he was stopped twice by Jabs (Usyk and Joyce) and stopped twice by Usyk.

Ain't no way Dubios is running through Fury. He offers nothing Fury hasn't seen before, and Dubios won't have a reach advantage. Power only gets you so far.

 

Fury hasn't beaten a guy as good as Dubois since 2015. So DDD has plenty to offer him. Especially since Fury's chin is gone now.
