I don't agree. Dubios has also never beaten an opponent anywhere near as good as Fury is unless you want to count a past it AJ who came in with a **** game plan, which I don't.

 

Fury almost lost to a guy who didn't fight anybody in the boxing ring, so it wouldn't matter that much. Plus Fury didn't beat anyone as good as Dubois in 5 years.

Looking at the top 10 above its surprising how few have faced each other
Outside of Usyk who has fought Fury, Dubois and Gassiev, I don't think any of the others have a win over another top 10 rated HW at this time (meaning top 10 of this rating above)

I think it could be argued Dubois has the better wins in their last 5 fights but not necessarily historically
You could say Fury looked better against Usyk and didn't get stopped, but every fight is different in that you could make a similar point in that Dubois stopped Joshua who stopped Ngannou, who gave Fury a tough fight, though I don't think that is a good argument as, like said above, all fights are different

 

"Almost" being the keyword. Outside of Usyk he's never lost.

 

Oficially, sure, but the consensus is he should have lost to McDermott. But anyway, if you "almost" lose to the boxing novice, you can sure as hell lose to the Top 5 HW in the world.

 

It's funny when you show people fights without the commentary and how suddenly different people tend to see them
With Fury, because of his style and showboating it gets attention.
Fury/McDermott 1 was definitely a hard fight for Fury but I felt the decision was OK.
When you watch Fury/Wilder 1 without commentary it looks more competitive even though I felt Fury won
I know some scored round 12 of Usyk/Fury 1, to Fury but I thought it was a very clear Usyk round and doesn't seem dramatic at all without commentary

 

I scored the McDermott fight for Fury too, 6-4 I think. 12th round of Usyk vs Fury I was a clear round for Usyk. He outlanded Fury almost 2:1 and landed bigger shots. The fact that all 3 judges scored it for Fury is a sign that the fix was in.

 

The 12th round of the first Usyk/Fury round baffles me a bit how some scored it to Fury.
I'm not sure about a fix. I did a post on here about it and some fans scored it that way

Dubois got Hrgovic, but point well taken.

Part of this is a function of the fact that it is a competitive division, and if you have a spot, you have to defend it. Joshua, Parker, Joyce, Zhang, are all guys who had top spots in recent memory, and couldn't hold them. Chisora, Wilder, Anderson, and Makhmudov might have been too...not sure...but they were minimally just outside of it.

But yeah, good point.

 

I scored it 6-4 for McDermott he was the aggressor and landed the more effective punches.

Bad decision for me and alot felt the same way which is why they changed the rules on how British title fights were scored.

Fair play to Dubois, he has fought some big names for such a young HW

I really didn't think it was a bad decision
Yes Mcdermott landed very big telling shots but Fury was very active, throwing body shots, jabbing etc

 

That's digging pretty far back for McDermott and not taking into context that Fury didn't train for Ngannou.

Comparing their common opponent it's clear to see who's better.
