Any reason Whittaker is fighting 8lbs over the light heavyweight limit?

 

Fkin Molly McCann ffs. I’ll watch the main event and that’s it. The weight thing is bizarre. Whittaker looked diced at the weigh in. Hard to see where those extra 8 pounds are coming from to make LHW again.

I remember Hearn ridiculed Haye for having a music performance in the old Joe Joyce cards on Dave.

 

Whittaker will have to be dragged into the ring before he takes part in a fight where he's not massive odds on favourite. Strange signing by Matchroom. The guy turns 29 in June and is treated like as well as behaving like he's a 20 year--old kid

 

So what do you think will happen? Is he going to keep trying to make light heavyweight because cruiserweight is a big leap and he won't want to be in with bigger men. The division is fairly poor though. Light heavyweight the better boxers are aging also. There are still a couple of good names in either division. Hearn moving him at a snail's pace. Is this part of the reason for

 

For sure, he doesn’t get in against anyone remotely decent for a long time yet

I’m sure Eddie thinks the same as most do in that he’s just a hype job but imho the signing of him was more of an ego trip/power move over shalom than it was a genuine business decision

Very hard to see who he fights tbh as anyone near the top of the division crucifies him, not enough power/strength for light heavyweight nor cruiserweight if he does go up so i really can’t think what route he’ll take personally, all I know is it’ll be the one of least resistance

Also interested to hear the how the weight limit for this fight came about

 

Surprised she isn't the main event the amount of tickets she has sold, this card should be in the Olympia not the echo

Good 6 rounds experience, first win by decision. Only going to help his progress at 19 years old. Reminded a bit of Moses Itauma’s early box ticking performances.

 

This is a liberty for a fight against a 3-3 opponent. That must have been a full 15 minutes ffs.

And yeah the crowd loved it but I wouldn’t use it as a barometer for anything. Most boxing crowds would enjoy a karaoke session in between fights, doesn’t mean it should happen.
