The myth of the "Prime Deontay Wilder"

Man delete this thread quick time, Wilder needs to keep his rep up as a great and dangerous fighter for Tyson Furys resume. 3 Fights with Wilder is too important for his legacy!

 

Between fights Stiverne 2 (or Ortiz 1) to Ortiz 2.
Still Wilder two times knocked down Fury.

 

Did somebody mention Ruiz ! Ortiz gets crapped on in every Wilder thread on here yet Wilder stopped him in 10 rounds in 2018 and then 7 rounds in 2019. Andy Ruiz only beats Ortiz on points in a close fight 4 years later in 2022,Andy Ruiz beats Arreola only on points getting dropped in the process in 2021, 7 years earlier in 2014 Stiverne another fighter who gets crapped on in every Wilder thread stopped Arreola in 6 rounds, Wilder 5 years earlier in 2016 stopped Arreola in 8 rounds . Ruiz the hand picked opponent for Joshua’s big American debut being the fighter who made Joshua quit in 2019 and took his 0 and his belts from him, so bad that Joshua never fought in America again !

 

To be fair he’s an absolute flog the way he carried on after the loss’s to Fury haha

 

If AJ loses to Wilder now, ain't no way he would have beaten him in their primes. So that debate would be finally over.

 

Fury doesn't have a great resume though so how does this make any difference

 

Yea, I believe Zhang Zhilei would have always brutally KO him

 

Yet only Usyk has achieved more this era .

 

Chris Byrd beat more ranked opponents so did John Ruiz.
You realize we can compare Fury to guys from other eras right?

And Fury didn't fight most of the competition available

 

Did you even bother to fully read my post before diving straight in ? Not even in the same era , Byrd IBF Champion back in 2004 John Ruiz WBA Champion back in 2005,Fury did not even turn pro till 2008 ! I mentioned THIS era as you well know !

 

I cited them to put in perspective what Fury has accomplished. In terms of accomplishments Byrd could be rated above Fury.

Many of the top heavyweights of this past era weren't pros in 2015 so I don't consider it part of the Usyk era

 

So if you don’t consider pre 2015 fighters as part of the Usyk era why did you mention Byrd and Ruiz when I clearly stated this era ? Make your mind up !

 

Fury doesn't look as bad by the standards of this last era but the whole era was terrible in terms of big fights getting made so it doesn't seem like a great argument.

 

It's so hard to say. I'm inclined to say that, as he has aged, it's logical that Wilder has declined.But the problem is that because his level of competition was quite poor when he was champion, it's hard to say exactly how good (or bad) he was. My suspicion is that Parker and Zhang would always have beaten him. But because he didn't really test himself earlier, he's always open to this kind of scrutiny

 

Who do you feel Joshua was supposed to travel to America to face?
He was the "A" side and challenged Ruiz in a neutral location
Who as the A side was he likely going to travel for?
Although I don't really think about the J Paul fight, that fight was in America
