How Much Difference Do You Believe is there between 12 rounders and 15 rounders

I think that (at least in the heavyweight division) the difference of 12 or 15 rounds made the "modern super heavyweights" possible. Imho If we consider the first "modern superweights" to be Riddick Bowe and Lenox Lewis; they enter the "12 round era".

 

The difference is 25%.

People may think 3 rounds isn’t that much, but it’s not the number of rounds difference you look at, it’s the percentage difference.

It’s potentially why we’ve seen a big difference in the size of heavyweights since the switch to 12 rounds.

 

Probably even in the 3rd fight when Golovkin was well past his best.

 

I’d argue that 2-0-1 indicates a decent amount of separation.

 

It really isn’t the reason why heavyweights got bigger.

It may have something to do with Shannon Briggs becoming a lineal champion.
