Why did you create another thread about this? https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/mike-tyson-prime-vs-muhammad-ali-1971.746351/
The prime Tyson was faster then anyone Ali ever fought except maybe Patterson and more powerful then anyone except Liston. Tyson was 10 times more powerful then Floyd and 10 times quicker then Liston. Peak Tyson is fast enough to hit Ali and avoid a lot of his punches. His punches find Ali often enough and with power. Rope a dope won’t work against Tyson.
Ali's not so secret weapon where he was clearly superior to Tyson was his mind. Before and during the fight, he would find a chink in Mike's psychological armor and exploit it. He did that so effectively again and again.
But how? I often read that Ali would have annoyed Tyson just like he did Frazier, but what did that accomplish besides motivating Frazier to fight better? Tyson got into Tyrell Biggs's head, and I think Larry Holmes did too. Would they have achieved less success without him? Holyfield didn't get into his head, and Buster didn't either; they just did their thing. Styl might fights and Tyson was Frazier 2.0
Ali wasn't the " butterfly " he was during his prime. But his "sting" and his physical strength may have been better( His strength and ability to wrestle and tie up his opponents is underrated and overlooked) He'd be able to put the jab on Tyson early, hold him whenever he tries to get his offense going , walk him back to the center of the ring. Wash and repeat . Tyson’s mental fragility would began to show itself early and often during the fight after months of Ali's harassment prior to it. Ali's frustrates Tyson slows him enough to win the later rds cruises on to win a 12rd decision. In a 15 rd fight he stops him.
Ali. Mic drop. He's the GOAT. Not Tyson, no matter how much his fanboys stuck in the late 1980s think otherwise.
