What a tosser. Load of guys have trained hard to be paid and Okolie cheats, gets caught, and it's all for nothing. I wonder if fighters can get insurance for this sort of thing...? Be good to see the cheats sued for loss of earnings...
What a shame. He should go hang out with Alimkhanuly and they can both reflect on their stupid decisions.
The fact that the event was canceled due to Okolie's cheating and they couldn't find a replacement opponent confirms that these kinds of events are irrelevant in the world of boxing...
Adeleye was ready supposedly why not use him. Ask Deontay Wilder if he can step in? I find it strange that Okolie is a draw in France. I guess the only reason Frank was having this show was to set up Okolie for some sort of title shot this year but with that now in limbo he saw no point in continuing the show
When you have an event like this, where the main event isn't some major matchup, isn't it common to pay a backup to be fit and ready just in case to step in for the main event?
Random idea, although he'd never do it -- Fury. He's coming off a fight and still fit, he didn't take damage in that fight, he could use the rounds, and he'd beat Yoka comfortably. Also, Fury stepping in last minute would probably double the eyes on the event. Plus he could call out AJ again after, make it even more epic "I just took a fight on 4 days notice and won, where are you at AJ? FIGHT ME!"
