Thing is even if Wilder and Joshua had signed one of the deals and went with either Showtime or dazn the fights would still not have happened due to Ruiz beating Joshua and then Fury beating Wilder. I think the closest the fight ever come to being was like you said when it was derailed by Parker .

Joshua was to make his American debut against Miller.

Miller tested positive.

They chose Ruiz to take Miller's place.

Ruiz humiliated Joshua, winning by stoppage.

Oh he might have lost then. But he has lost something, that speed of delivery, that snap that got the right hand to target has gone now.
So was he ever a technical great no, but he always had a chance of landing a bomb. That's gone as well now.

He was an average, tough guy with a huge equalizer. Now he's just tough. Same mistakes, still wild and uncoordinated at times but with nothing as a bale out.

Politics and ego is was kept Aj v Fury happening for the most part of their careers. Sure it sucks that fights never materialized earlier, but that's an unfortunate part of boxing.

At least AJ fought Dubois recently. Was that a bad fight? Not at all. And as AJ stated, he wants Wilder and Fury next.

Uh he over 40 now. Think this take is way off. Wilder beat some strong fighters. Ortiz knocked dudes dead. Fury is an all time great no matter how clueless some on this site are. I think he is mainly long in tooth now. He was much better when Breland trained him. Malik Scott is not a A level trainer.

But let's be real, AJs last opponent was Jake Paul. Before that, he got sparked in 5 by Dubios and before that was a fight against a 0-1 MMA fighter. If that was Wilders recent record you'd be all over it, but of course consistency doesn't suit your narrative.

I'm not bitter over a loss Parker had 8 years ago. He tried multiple times to get rematches and avenge his losses, and he's never ducked an opponent in his career nor stooped to fighting MMA fighters/Youtubers. I also have criticisms of Wilder, Fury, Usyk and many other boxers.
