More like Toney, but with worse counters and chin imo. Obviously he could move his feet better than Toney though. More like Haney in that regard.

Based on resume you might give the edge to Benitez. People have been using that argument against Bud for awhile now. It never seems to work out for them.

I guess some people never learn damn thing about Terance Crawford. Look at the fighter's ability. Their equally quick, Crawford is much stronger than Wilfredo, he hits slightly harder. Bud would have the reach advantage, Benitez was slicker, better defensively.

Its a good matchup on paper. In an actual fight i believe Crawford's mentality would carry it for him. He's more determined, more consistent. He's got a little extra.

At jr.middle I would favor Benitez.
At all other weights Crawford.

 

Crawford is a boxer who "Thinks" about what he's
doing in a boxing ring.
Benitez was a boxer trained to instinctiveness.
There are reasons why boxers today can fight
until their late thirties .
And it's not just about they take better
care of their bodies. It's also because they don't and are not allowed to train
to the point of " second nature".
Today's fighters simply don't get the wear and tear as the
top fighters years ago did, they in general don't start
out at as early of an age, or put in the time sparring and
fighting. Benitez was a World Champ" at seventeen .
Think about that a moment, and he won it against a proven
ATG in Antonio Cervantes.
Benitez wasn't "thinking" about slipping and countering
against fighters as skilled as Cervantes, Palomino, Leonard
Hearns and Duran. If he did, he would've been stopped.
He reacted instinctively, like all of us do breathing.
Crawford hasn't beaten ANYONE that would suggest
he'd beat a prime Wilfredo Benitez.
Or ANY of the past ATG's from the 1930's through
the 1990's between lightweight and middleweight.
Especially during the time of same day weigh in.
It was a different game back then, fought at levels
the top fighters today simply are not allowed to get too.
Safety and the health of the fighters today are the primary
reasons for it.
But the cost is they can never reach the skill level of
past ATG's.
Prime Benitez would hand a convincing loss
to prime Crawford by UD.

I dont think Crawford wins at any weight Benitez at 140 to 154 is levels above Canelo, Spence, Porter, and Madrimov. I dont even think Shakur beats Benitez at 140

 

I'm not so sure, I'd give SRL and Hearns a good chance vs Benitez, for starters.

 

Im talking in this era.

 

He’s undefeated in this era because he didn’t have to fight them.

 

Benitez would kick the crap out of him, wide unanimous decision or late TKO.
