Will jeff try and turn him into a close range brawler. Tim is better when he is patient. Just needs his power back.

Broken record but **** if that cut didn't happen he schools Fundora. That version of Tim and the one that smashed Mendoza was gold.

Probably a geographical decision. Tim wants someone local. Jeff will blow a lot of smoke up Tim's ass but not sure how he'll make Tim a better fighter. He'll still beat Spence though.

Spent 20 years in WA, it is a fantastic place and Perth is a tiny part of it.

Agreed. Not sure about Fenech either but he's better than Diaz. Had Tim training until 10.30 at night then up at 5 the next morning sometimes. Idiotic

That’s how I see it. Diaz tried changing Tim, Fenech for all his flaws will at least bring the dog back out in Tim.

Hi Lads (& Lasses) - Time for a World Boxing Cup update from Brazil. I've been busy today but have now managed to catch all four of our overnight performances. The net summary is two wins & two hard fought defeats. Jye Dixon boxed beautifully against a Romanian to win well at Bantamweight. He's starting to show the benefits of extensive international experience at a young age. He looks to be our best male amateur & only remaining Aussie bloke left in the tournament (edit - Flyweight Omer Izaz is yet to fight & kicks off his campaign tomorrow morning). Jye won with plenty of room to spare. Lachlan Lawson lost to a very well credentialed Spaniard. Made him work for it but took a few too many in return. Defending those uppercuts in close is a skill he will need to add to his repertoire. Jacob Cassar lost to a Canadian on points at Welterweight. One thing that did irritate me in that one was the French judge scoring the first round to the Canadian 10-8. I appreciate that Canada & France have a cosy relationship but that kind of blatant bias is what almost got boxing punted from the Olympics permanently. The Frogs have some real history with shonky stuff in the amateur ranks. I maintain the draw in the Super Heavy division at the Paris Olympics was rigged to get the unseeded French Super Heavy through to the medals while Tony Yoka's 'wins' at the 2016 Olympics over both Filip Hrgovic & Joe Joyce were dubious (to put it mildly). Arrogant French judges who score basic 10-9 rounds as 10-8 in order to support countries they are friendly with should be excluded from international tournaments. Glad we're not buying their dud subs after that effort. No problem with the decision going to the Canadian but having one of the official judges as a cheerleader instead of a neutral official is back to the dark old days of amateur boxing. The officials who engage in that behaviour think they're very clever but they aren't fooling anyone. Wouldn't have changed the result but sick of seeing stuff like that. Emma Sue Greentree was strong & jabbed well against a physically strong & bullish Polish opponent. Very impressed with her every time I see her in action. She continues on in the tournament. We must just about be up to the medal rounds so that's two through with hopefully more to come.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Since when do we need a Cuban coach to put a whoopin' on a Doodle Dandy in the Great Southern Land of Australia? If we were sending Tim to the Olympics, yeah sure, Pedro had something to offer but that's not what we're doing. Hopefully Jeff lets him come in as big & strong as he can get him & punching hard. Errol Bungeye needs to know that when he gets hit between his good eye & his bung eye that he isn't facing one of those under-sized welterweights he made his name against.

I did, WaR. Thought he boxed well. I gave him the last round & he was certainly very competitive in the first two. One of the official judges scored it to him. I know the bloodnut is your personal favourite on our amateur team.
