Deontay Wilder vs Tyson’s championship resume

Wilder did wait around for a big punch later in his reign. That could backfire if he kept doing it against Tyson’s later reign opponents.

True, but also easy to hit cleanly.

 

Yeah but if you watch Thomas vs Bowe, Thomas was washed at that point and he had his hands down and Bowe was teeing off with clean shots and Thomas wouldn't fall. I know Bowe didn't hit hard as Wilder with a single shot, but Bowe was a plenty hard puncher. Mike Tyson landed big punches in the 1st round and Thomas took them well. Tyson had to lay into Thomas with combinations to get him out of there. He also took the punches of Mike Weaver who was considered one of the hardest hitting heavyweights of the 1980s.

I say that to say that it may not be a sure thing if Wilder is gambling on one big punch

 

Thomas was an early defense for Tyson. Therefore, I see a version of Wilder entering the ring who would let his hands go and basically beat the crap out of Thomas, whether he stayed standing or not.

 

He loses to everyone on the list, except maybe Seldon, I would make that one a 50/50 flight.

 

Yeah I see Thomas being a tough opponent and Thomas may hit harder than Fury

 

Who do you think would win between Wilder and Witherspoon?

 

Wilder by knockout. I don't get the sense that Tim really liked training and fighting like Widler does.
