Do you buy the story that Carmen Basilio stood up to the mob and didn't take no dives?

Have you watched him lose to Chuck Davey?

The story is Basilio refused to kick back a percentage to Carbo and told his managers of they wanted to do so out of their end ,it was up to them.

Chuck Davey had something that Basilio never had. Rhythm.

"Hey, get rhythm when you get the blues
Come on, get rhythm when you get the blues
Get a rock and roll feeling in your bones
Put taps on your toes and get gone
Get rhythm when you get the blues"

    ~Johnny Cash

"Whereas I had a hopping rhythm that spelled death, disdain and delight, Carmen had layers. Layers, like a glass onion. But even glass onions stink sometimes."

Every time Basilio said no to the mob, Jersey Joe got another title shot.

Basilio was an IBC fighter. Excellent boxer but he was connected.
