Monzon moves up to 175lbs at his best to fight the best of Torres, unlike Tiger who moved up when he (Tiger) was past his best. Who wins this matchup?
I avoided voting and commenting in the Monzon vs Johnson and MSM threads because we just don't know what Monzon would have been at LHW - I can't picture the Monzon we saw beating either, but we don't know how he would have filled out at LHW and what impact the weight gain would have had on him. No such concern here, imo, Torres was barely more than a natural MW himself. He was no bigger than Monzon and certainly not as good. The Monzon we saw, without having to drain those last few lbs to make MW, would have enough vs any version of Torres, imo.
I agree on both points exactly. Not sure what he would be as a LH but thinking if Tiger could beat Torres then Monzon should be able to.
