I would say Ezzard Charles but idk if he counts as a career light heavyweight since he had a reign at heavyweight.

Harold Johnson wouldn't want him but I think he could beat Williams. Johnson could knock him out with one well-placed right hand.

You think Michael Spinks could get it done?

Yes. I would pick Spinks to win and he was fully capable of knocking Williams out. Not with one punch but I see him getting Big Cleve drunk with the first punch. Then Spinks ambushes him with a series of rights and lefts.

Michael Spinks impressed me forever that night he took Gerry Cooney apart. That was one smart fighter. And an underrated finisher.

You need a rock solid guy who will close the gap and turn a long distance technical exchange into a close quarters slug-out.

Somebody with good feet, and distance control.

With the sledgehammer power to exploit Williams' weak chin.

    Somebody like Beterbiev:

If Bob Foster qualifies as a "career light heavyweight", he could finish Cleveland Williams.

You know, I've never thought if him. But yeah, he could do it.

Foster could i guess if he landed clean, but I think Williams overpowers him

As unlikely as it sounds, prime Roy Jones Jr. Think about it. Possible or not? I say possible..

Roy would have to put the performance of the century to not get touched by Cleveland's shots.

Roy had the speed, skills and power to win but if Williams lands, he could do a Tarver on Roy

That man was incredible inside a boxing ring.

Prime Roy Jones was like a Terminator in boxing trunks.
