Jeff Fenech new head trainer for Tim Tszyu

I think he'll be better than Diaz. But I think Tim's done at the top level. Will beat Spence imo but won't win a world title.

 

Rumours are Tim's not happy. Next in line to coach him are Anthony Mundine, Johnny Lewis and Michael Zerafa.

 

I did not see his training, but he looked like he had lost muscle. I think Arrur Beterbiev is rhe type of muscle and weight distribution that woukd be optimal. Strong but not overly muscle.

 

Yeah he did. Dr Diaz should change his name to Dr Diet. He's a has been.

 

The guy has been fortunate enough to be in a cosy warm nest his whole career. Surrounded by a trusted family operation, personal manager backer and even a committed full time promoter/matchmaker working for his interests. Tims finding out the outside world can be pretty cold and savage in boxing when you have to bat for yourself all of a sudden. I dont think he has the experience to know who's who.This is all music to Erroll Spences ears.

I think stability is a luxury at this point, he just needs someone who can help corner him over his next one or two camps and he can call it then.

 

It you look back at Fenech interviews, he has talked himself up a lot for years, while bagging Tim's teams and particularly trainers. I think Fenech sniffed a pay day if he could just get Tim into world title fights; and has manipulated the situation to exploit the naivety you mention.

I hear you with the cosy nest and rude awakening, all the time buoyed by saturation Fox/Rose propaganda, just like little bro. While much better fighters are virtually ignored.

 

He has Mikaelian, but I don't think he's training any other world champions.

 

I disagree. Fenech is just stating the truth. Absolute clowns cost him his world title vs Fundora and taking punishment in that fight which he didn't have to. Got rid of that team and Diaz is another one **** style close in on the spot throw 6 fast punches then get out the way all amateur **** as fenech said didn't even get him to throw going forwards or backwards. Lost all his muscle too. You're right about others though Tim's a fox sports hype job he was the man he's not anymore but they invested big in him so they're still going with it. Opetai is the one who should get all the hype and attention Tim does. Tim's an awesome guy though real genuine he'll take you under his wing if he has the time. He deserved better in his career at least the pay day is coming. I'd love for him to win a world title again but I don't see it.

 

Yeah, dead on. I think even with Fenech as his trainer he can get a win against Spence.

 

I think it's the age old problem for aussie fighters who reach world class, they out grow their original handlers/teams. Tim's backers did him extremely well until they went to the states and were out of their depth. Originally, I was only following his career closely because he was Kostya's son and I didn't expect he would get to world class. Then, it was obviously exciting when he cracked the world-class level. It was really only bad luck and bad management that stopped his rise but my respect for the kid has grown with the way he has dealt with his beatings and I'm really rooting for him now. He's a tough kid and he really wants it and he's done well to even get back to this level after those savage losses. I do think he's enamoured with Fenech though and his want to have Fenech in his corner could be because his Dad hasn't been around.
