I'll go with the towering inferno. Too much height and range.

Good fight. WBC Champ Beanstalk Fundora versus Lineal & former Undisputed Champ Jermell Charlo. Will formally Crown the legitimate World Junior Middleweight champ. The other blokes (as talented as they may be) are just alphabet champs. I'll reserve judgement on who wins until closer to the fight.

Utterly ridiculous that Jermell gets a title shot.

If Jermell weren't as inactive and coming for a paycheque, then I'd back him. But we haven't seen him in the ring in 3 years and we don't know if he can even make 154 anymore. I'd like to see the fight but I just don't know if Jermell has anything left in the tank.

Was Jermell really ever that good to begin with?

Fundora absolutely pummels Jermell prime or not.

Jermell Charlo is too much inactive, he have nothing to proof and have no chance here to be honest. The Guy is a future hall of famer you like it or not he was the true King of the Super Welterweight during 2016-2022 (6 years) and was the great winner against the two rivals of his time (we can even says the two others Super Welterweight Kings of the period) Tony Harrison and Brian Carlos Castano, even if the three have almost the same level, Charlo was the final winner against the two.

Charlo is still Lineal champ - like it or not. Someone needs to dethrone him. Few would argue that Beanstalk is the most deserving challenger, so let's see it. Will be good to have an active Lineal champ in the Junior Middleweight division.

What a ridiculous question. Of course Jermell was good to begin with, the man was the lineal and undisputed champion at 154. He beat a number of other world class fighters and was a P4P ranked fighter at one point. Jermell’s win over Castaño alone is a fair bit better than anything Fundora has going on in his resume.

Castano has not even beaten anyone worthy of note in his entire career...

To me, it almost screams like Wilder's borderline fake title reign whereby his best opponent was Luis Ortiz.

When Jermell stepped up to fight someone half decent, he lost every round easily. Almost like Wilder and Parker, and since Jermell has found his level - he has been missing since.

Castaño was an extremely good amateur and as a pro beat Erislandy Lara (idc about the draw, Castaño won that fight), Michel Soro, Patrick Teixera, and probably deserved the nod over Jermell in the first fight. He also beat Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Castaño was legitimately world class when Jermell beat him, as were Tony Harrison, John Jackson, Erickson Lubin, Jeison Rosario, Austin Trout, and Vanes Martirosyan. To say that Canelo was the first half-decent opponent Jermell fought is absolutely farcical.
