How good was Rocky's left hook? what were the best ones he landed on film? do you think his left gets underrated due to his right hand?

It was very good, he was in no way a one handed puncher like Wilder for example, or Cooney.

I think of the left hook he threw after he'd knocked out Jersey Joe Walcott with the right hand when he was down.

He could knock you out with either fist.

He had KO power in either fist. Best example of left hook was probably Matthews when he hit him with two consecutive for the KO in round 2.

Marciano showed some serious restraint right there, it had been a long hard grueling fight but he showed good sportsmanship and presence of mind to pull that punch back to a love tap.

Harry Matthews was a light heavy, and something of a fraud at that. Can you imagine what, say Andy Ruiz, would do to that guy?

Marciano had a powerful hook for his size, if he got close enough to you, but he would often have to really overextend to land it.

Please explain what that has to do with showing off his left hook which he had taken out quite a few including Joe Louis? I understand Matthew’s was a highly skilled LHW moving up on a long win streak with a decent chin and he’s an iffy record at hw but still better than many...to call any fighter a fraud who wasn’t cheating is disgraceful. It’s an honorable sport where men risk it all. But we aren’t discussing Ruiz we are discussing Marciano. Yes he had to extend we know about his 68 inch reach.

Oooh, he took out positively crippled Joe Louis? After getting his face half caved-in by Joe's one good fist? Color me impressed.

I didn't call Matthews a fraud. Archie Moore did.

I would pick John Ruiz and Andy Ruiz to beat Marciano.

I have a feeling you don’t really watch these fights. You had a wrong impression of many fights. He dominated Louis the whole fight. Louis had one good round with his jab but it was a dominant round. He just won it. Marciano controlled the pace and distance 95% of the time. As far as Ruiz go you must lose a lot of money on sports gambling

Half of Rocky's face was caved in after the Louis fight. And again, The Rock doesn't get a whole lot of credit for wearing an old, crippled man who was only fighting because Uncle Sam was looming over him. That was a gladiatorial execution at best.

I actually had to declare my winnings last year on sports gambling, all boxing and MMA betting. My football betting record is atrotious.

Again another low iq post. Louis was the favorite that night btw. So ancient on a 8 fight win streak in a year against all men ranked or prior ranked except one. He was old and rusted out but unlike Ray Mercer Rocky knocked out the old guy.
