Fury vs Hrgovic would be perfect fight right now

And honestly, if Fury couldn't get past Hrgovic he'd probably lose against AJ too.

 

im not sure of that. I’m not sure AJ would get past Hrgovic actually. Hrgovic would outbox him, and good luck winning via KO. Need to get a lucky stoppage on cuts to beat Hrgovic without the cards being involved.

 

AJ has some skills which are a bit underrated. He can box quite well when he wants to and put together some nice combinations.

Hrgovic tends to get disinterested when put under pressure (Zhang) which won't go well for him against either fighter.

 

If Joshua is anything other than completely shot, he outboxes Hrgovic comfortably over 10 or 12.

Hrgovic, for a technically decent boxer, is very poor on cards thanks to his limited gas tank... Joshua was never super on the stamina, but he's not that bad - and he's better technically than he often gets credit for.

 

That and he just doesn't have the stamina to rack up rounds down the second half of a fight.. and Zhang doesn't either, which is why he almost never wins on points (even Forrest took him to a draw on the cards)... Squeaking past Zhang on very tight margins on the cards says everything about how great Hrgovic ISN'T on cards.

 

But that's the point - Hrgovic gasses badly, it's his other major limitation besides power.

If Fury looks poor against him in stamina terms, it'll say a lot about what Fury has left, or doesn't.

 

Personally, I felt that Zhang should have won by stoppage that fight too.

 

I could see them choosing someone like Alexander Frank or John Cantrell
