The promoter has the experience and is trusted to make the best decisions for the fighter, the desire of the fighter is not relevant, the fight will only happen if it makes sense financially, but the promoter works for the promoter and the fighter is the product.

 

Of course but fights happen because they make sense money wise, fighters don’t fight who they want, they fight who the promoter lines up. It’s true that the promoter works for the fighters but they are given options.
If ituma decides he’s fighting Wardley because that’s who he wants to fight, it’s not happening because he isn’t In a position to fight him, his ranking doesn’t match, and his promotion doesn’t want a risky fight. You as a (young fighter) are given options, you can decide which one you choose, but you don’t dictate.

Of course you are completely right, It’s manager who is responsible advising the fighter which options make the most sense, there is a clear distinction between the promoter and the manager generally but in this case it’s the promoters son who is the manager. I have read back a few of my posts on this topic and there are a few flaws to be honest but it remains true that Moses isn’t ducking anyone, and he is not different from any other fighter for saying he wants to fight a certain opponent and not making the fight, and although the fighter makes the final decision on who he faces or who he doesn’t, he doesn’t fight who he wants if it doesn’t make financial sense for the promoter, and that could mean taking a lesser opponent or a series of lower rated fighters to get a few highlight reels to gain more exposure and generate a following, but with the goal of making the big fights against the top fighters, along the way they could call a few names out with no intention of fighting them any time soon but with the objective to stay in the spotlight. It could also be the case that a fighter is calling for a certain fight, but it can’t happen because of rankings or because they are already scheduled to fight. It is too easy to call out fighters for ducking, and I think it’s right to do so when it happens, but it should only be considered a duck when a fighter has consistently avoided a fight because they are scared. Ituama is clearly not scared of any of those fighters mentioned here.

 

Zhang hits like a truck, his cardio is **** yeah but he’s technically excellent and crafty as hell and those hands are blindingly fast which is a bizarre thing to behold when he strings combinations together. Reminder that he has knocked down or out Joyce x 2, Wilder, Parker, Kabayel, Hrgovic. Those are some strong credentials, Itauma is an amazing prospect and looks like he has the goods to go far, Zhang seriously hurts everybody he steps in the ring with though, so it would be interesting. Itauma has been through zero adversity whatsoever, he has been too good to be tested deeper. Eddie would put him in against Zhang, I’m not sure FW would, he is an excellent matchmaker through his caution and slow building.
