The best win in the professional career of Edgar Berlanga currently ? Padraig McCrory ? Steve Rolls ? Demond Nicholson ? Jonathan Gonzalez-Ortiz ? Jason Quigley ? Berlanga is still way too high in the rankings, isn't he? He almost had another world title shot, the WBA championship against Resendiz no less, but in the end Munguia took his place by putting more money on the table.
I don't know if Berlanga has a best win but he has a lot of decent wins that you could put in any order. I would say Steve Rolls is number one, followed by Nicholson, Angulo and McCrory. In a nod to current events, Angulo lost super middleweight title fights to former cruiserweight kingpin Zurdo Ramirex as well as the many who took his crown, David Benavidez.
Honestly against Resendiz it will be a 50/50 fight I think. One thing is clear is that Munguia is very better than Berlanga with the victory against Resendiz. Resendiz was a little world champion and have only one notable victory against a old Caleb Plant. He's more technically good than Berlanga, especially with his jab and quick inside hooks. But he lacks power in this weight class.
Actually after watching the Resendis vs Munguia fight, I think Berlanga would have had a decent chance against Resendis. Watching that fight, I find it hard to believe Plant even lost to him. Another thing, why can't Derevyanchenko ever get a chance against someone like Resendis. He would have mopped the floor with him. Derevyanchenko needs to snatch a title if possible.
