Yeah some of his losses are pretty hurtful. Mayweather fighting ranked for 20 years and never losing is some feat.
I think Mayweather's fighting and winning in multiple divisions, lack of losses and beating fighters way bigger then him consistently should rank him higher overall.
What Fing levels? Picking opponents either too green or too ripe? Turning half your back so as to take away amateur fighting targets? Turning a combat sport into a dancing competition? Negotiating every inch of ever ring and ounce of every piece of apparel to your advantage? He shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Moore. Yes, there are wrong answers on this one. And they ain't mine.
I love Archie but have to edge it to Mayweather. He’s not appreciated the way he should be yet because of his style…but I’ve never seen a man so good at hitting and not being hit and I don’t think I ever will. The only blemish on Mayweather was him and Pac not meeting at each others prime. Hurt both their legacies. I don’t think the outcome would have been different but it prob would have been more competitive.
lack of losses? Do you really think Mayweather would have lack of losses if he fought 220 times at the same type of schedule that Moore did and fighting up to the age of nearly 50? Moore fought in multiple divisions too - he didn't have a chance to fight for the title in them. Moore also beat fighters way bigger than him. Nino Valdez is a good example. Mayweather arguably lose 1-2 fights as it was. And he wasn't fighting insane schedules. Nor was he fighting the caliber of opponents Moore was.
Skill, speed, defense, Mayweather is way better at everything regarding boxing bar power. Every Champions negotiates to their advantage. BTW if Floyd wanted to take the easy route he could have spent his career at 130, he went up in weight to beat bigger men who were P4P ranked an pretty much faced every P4P ranked opponent ovewr 20 years
I imagined that would probably be the case. Some people obviously valuing losses more highly than others.
