Good solid performance from both fighters.

Would like to see Inoue move up. The weight difference is a tall order, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Inoue fight Jesse Rodriguez if Inoue stays at his weight class.

 

Damn, I missed most of the fight. Caught rounds 9 and on and had no context, so I guess it was exciting for me at least.

 

Yes, anything less than 8-4 is really a stretch.

 

Early rounds were a lot of feinting, not a lot of throwing.

 

I’d love to see Bam and Inoue fight while Inoue still is somewhat in his prime.

Im not gonna lie, im pretty devastated, i have followed Nakatani since i was in Japan in 2017 and seen hin KO someone early, i pegged him as future p4p #1 about 5 years ago when i got off the Nourdine Ouballi train. Devastated. Rematch needed.

 

hes maxing out his frame for his abilities, so hes going to lose some stamina with the muscle. he looked ripped at the weigh in, even though hes fighting at his heaviest division yet. his speed and reaction times are still there, which means hes added the weight correctly.

 

8-4 Inoue. Started slow but turned into a great fight.

Some might say Junto's late start might have cost him but the slow start allowed him to pour it on a fatigued Inoue in the back half of the fight. The accidental cut was pretty unfortunate, think it kind of stopped Junto's momentum in the 11th when Inoue started targeting it. Still a solid effort from Junto. Proved plenty of people wrong by not getting dominated or blown out. Worthy of being in the same ring as Inoue.

I already had Inoue at P4P 1 going into this fight but this win solidifies it for sure. Boxed well early, and survived a late surge from a P4P top 10 guy like Junto to win the fight decisively. There isn't much opposition left for him to fight though. Maybe Bam will decide to take a gamble and move up to face him but I doubt it. Featherweight can provide some challenges to him but not much that would really greatly improve his standing. If I were him I'd probably retire after 2-3 more fights. Get out before time gets him.

 

I think it’s age. But also obviously fighting a bigger hard hitter like Nakatani will drain you more than a Fulton.

 

i think so too. unless he can catch and hurt bam, the pace bam sets is going to empty him out.

 

9-3 for me. Nak got some good rounds in there but Inoue was busier and landing cleaner more consistently throughout! Good stuff to get the morning started
