all lining up like ive been saying, right up to the time it would happen. all that is left is for bam to beat him and become p4p #1 boxer in the world. then it will all have happened like i said it would.

I guess. Really want Inoue to try for 5th division and 3rd division undisputed.

 

Would be an interesting fight, but i dont see how Bam adds the weight required to be competitive.

 

Let’s see it happen. Better now than never. That’s the next big fight for Inoue.

If Bam's team had any sense they'd wait a few more years for Inoue. Great for us fans though. Monster still looks near prime when it comes to reflexes and power. Nothing I've seen on film from Bam would give me confidence for his chances against current Naoya imo.

 

Good fight and props to Bam if he takes it. I expect Bam will demolish Antonio Vargas at 118, which puts him only a division away from Inoue anyhow. Bam walks around somewhere in the low to high 130s, which is roughly the same as Inoue, so the difference in size isn't as big as some make it out to be, even if Inoue is a bit longer and Bam is more stout. Not sure what either of them would do in the meantime though. Bam would probably have enough time to beat Vargas in June and then unify (probably against Medina, since they're both signed to Matchroom iirc), or he could take a fight at 122 to test the waters. There isn't really much left for Inoue to do at 122 apart from maybe a Junto rematch or a fight against Goodman, maybe Shabasz Masoud.

 

It would be a very different fight at the least. Bam would never spend those opening rounds fencing, feinting, not doing much, like Nakatani did. He’s way too aggressive for that. The entire fight would be like the second half was.

that said, Inoue looked too damn sharp and explosive. I see a good war, but Bam losing one way or another.

I hope he’s getting 8 figures if he takes it. Such a risk of derailing his career trajectory.

that said, Bam always says he wants to retire from boxing before age 30. If this gets him the cash he wanted to do that in one fight, maybe he says **** it, takes the fight, tries to make history, sails off into the sunset if he loses.

 

Inoue's level of fan-friendly style, activity, and greatness chasing is unreal these days.
