Fighters Getting Praised for Essentially Getting Their Ass Whooped?

I always thought Bryant Jennings was getting a lot of praise by the HBO team when he was fighting Wlad. I think Kellerman was calling for a rematch lol.

 

Briggs getting shellacked by Vitali. I never thought much of Briggs but after that fight I gained a whole new respect for the guy. He showed some balls that night.

 

Never understood the huge Conn love. Good boxer had a decent night got knocked out by the first decent puncher he met.

well he did beat Lee Savold before facing Louis..

Michael Watson vs. Mike McCallum. I've always found it weird how Watson's performance generally garners more praise than Collins' performance against McCallum earlier that year, even though Collins finished the fight and actually took the play away from McCallum at points.

Briggs was a man with a strange temperament and sometimes he did himself no favors trying to explain it. But years before, he did lay everything on the line in a shootout with Lennox and generated an awesome fight that took two to tango, going out on his shield.
